Here we are AV fans, Amazon Prime Day is back for another year, and is already proving to be a great opportunity to score some major savings on a wide range of hi-fi and home cinema kit.

The annual sale kicks off today Tuesday, July 7, and will run for seven full days, coming to a close at 11.59pm on Monday, July 13.

The good news is there's plenty to get stuck into. I spotted a good number of discounts on AV kit in the lead up to today, and the list has only gotten bigger. You can find all my latest picks further down, which comprise a solid selection of headphones, speakers, media streaming devices and other hi-fi components.

Highlights so far however have to be the KEF LSX II LT and KEF LSX wireless speaker systems receiving 20% discounts, while there's plenty of WiiM components also receiving 20% discounts, making some of our favourite affordable kit even more accessible.

The What Hi-Fi? team and I will continue to seek out all the best deals and discounts as we move through the Prime Day sale, so be sure to check back here regularly.

The main thing to remember is that, more often than not, you need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of the deals. Of course, there are further benefits to having a membership, and if you've not been a Prime member before, you can sign up for a free 30-day Prime trial.

Amazon Prime Day 2026: best deals now live

Headphones

Sony WH-CH720N
Save 43% (AU$111.95)
Sony WH-CH720N: was AU$259.95 now AU$148 at Amazon

If your budget can't stretch to a pair of Sony XM6 or XM5 headphones, this more affordable option makes sensible compromises to significantly lower the price, which is even better ahead of Prime Day. The WH-CH720N are among our favourite Bluetooth over-ears at this price, with fantastic sound and noise cancellation.

Bose QuietComfort SC Headphones
Prime-exclusive
Save 49% (AU$243.95)
Bose QuietComfort SC Headphones: was AU$499.95 now AU$256 at Amazon

If you're finding yourself a bit baffled by Bose's huge range of QuietComfort headphones, we don't blame you. This SC variant gets you the audio brand's current mainstream (and well-regarded) noise-cancelling over-ears with a soft carry case – thus the 'SC' – rather than the hard case the regular version comes with. The cans themselves are identical. We haven't reviewed this pair but they are a modest update on the four-star QuietComfort 45, which we praised for superb noise-cancelling and, OK battery life and decent sound.

Sony WH-1000XM4
Prime-exclusive
Save 27% (AU$120)
Sony WH-1000XM4: was AU$439 now AU$319 at Amazon

They may now have two successors in Sony XM5 and XM6, but we still rate the Sony XM4s incredibly highly. They're comfortable, sound excellent and hold their own where ANC is concerned. We have seen them go slightly lower in price before, but this is still a good saving on what is a talented set of cans.

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3
Save 25% (AU$172.75)
Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3: was AU$699 now AU$526.25 at Amazon

These B&W headphones are gorgeous to both look at and listen to, and they've now received a huge discount for Prime Day. As we said in our review of these headphones, they "dig deep into your music, eschewing a broad or general sonic overview and instead pulling out instrumental timbres with the relentless curiosity and enthusiasm of a bloodhound on the scent of a new lead. All colours are available with varying discounts.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless
Save 59% (AU$365.95)
Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless: was AU$624.95 now AU$259 at Amazon

This Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless might have now been replaced, but they're still a stunning set of over-ears that deserve a mention. They sound great, have effective ANC, solid battery life at 60 hours and an excellent app. No wonder they scored a five-star review.

Sennheiser HDB 630
Save 20% (AU$202)
Sennheiser HDB 630: was AU$999 now AU$797 at Amazon

The Sennheiser HDB 630 over-ears unearth plenty of detail and dynamism from your music thanks to an included USB-C dongle. At AU$999 RRP they're certainly an investment, but a 20% discount helps. You can read our Sennheiser HDB 630 review for more details.

Sennheiser HD 505
Prime-exclusive
Save 34% (AU$150.95)
Sennheiser HD 505: was AU$449.95 now AU$299 at Amazon

These open-back Sennheiser headphones are extremely comfortable to wear over longer periods and deliver "as easy-going a listen as you could hope for". They're balanced, clear and are able to serve up excellent levels of detail, particularly in the mid-range.

Sony WH-1000XM6
Save 15% (AU$104.95)
Sony WH-1000XM6: was AU$699.95 now AU$595 at Amazon

Our Product of the Year, the Sony XM6 serve up exceptional levels of detail and a spacious sound. ANC is among the very best you'll find, too. We wish they supported audio over USB-C, but otherwise, they're sensational. All colours are available, and all under AU$600, but the best price is on the white and black models.

Sennheiser HD 620S
Save 33% (AU$200.95)
Sennheiser HD 620S: was AU$599.95 now AU$399 at Amazon

Sennheiser's delivered something special with the HD 620S, which offer the expansive and spacious acoustics of open-back headphones in a closed-back design. This audiophile-grade pair of over-ears earned 4 stars in our Sennheiser HD 620S review, where we praised their "detailed and smooth sound".

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones
Prime-exclusive
Save 42% (AU$270.90)
Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones: was AU$649 now AU$378.10 at Amazon

Bose continues its class-leading noise-cancellation legacy with the QuietComfort Ultra headphones and backs that up with exceptional sound quality. We personally weren't too convinced by the Immersive Audio mode, but the fact it doesn't discriminate against source or streaming service means there is still plenty of appeal.

Sony WF-C510
Save 39% (AU$42.95)
Sony WF-C510: was AU$109.95 now AU$67 at Amazon

As the winner of a What Hi-Fi? 2025 Award, it's incredibly easy to recommend the WF-C510: they're compact, comfortable, IPX4 water resistant, and serve up a delightful, balanced sound – punching well about their sub-AU$100 price tag. Their one shortcoming is that they don't offer active noise cancelling, but given they have decent passive noise isolation (like most rubber-tip equipped in-ears) that shouldn't be an issue for most people. Currently this price is only for the white colourway.

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds
Prime-exclusive
Save 34% (AU$150.95)
Bose Ultra Open Earbuds: was AU$449.95 now AU$299 at Amazon

These 4-star open earbuds from Bose offer a musical and entertaining sound, while also providing a comfortable and secure fit. If you've been tempted by the prospect of open earbuds, whereby the earpiece doesn't go into the ear canal, then Bose's debut pair are worthy of consideration. There are two separate listings for these earbuds, each with different colours. Check out the other listing for the same price for the full selection.

Apple AirPods Pro 3
Prime-exclusive
Save 30% (AU$130)
Apple AirPods Pro 3: was AU$429 now AU$299 at Amazon

If you're an Apple user, the AirPods Pro 3 makes a lot of sense. Serving up a comfortable fit, great sound and decent noise-cancellation, not to mention seamless connectivity. This is the lowest price we've seen on Apple's flagship buds.

JBL Live Beam 3
Save 40% (AU$100.95)
JBL Live Beam 3: was AU$249.95 now AU$149 at Amazon

We like the smooth, easy-going sound produced by these JBL earbuds in our review. Add in the fact they have a useful, interactive case and a heap of customisable features, and you have yourself an excellent pair of in-ear headphones.

Technics EAH-AZ100
Save 20% (AU$100.15)
Technics EAH-AZ100: was AU$499 now AU$398.85 at Amazon

These Technics buds deliver a sound packed with detail and clarity, and one that is entirely engaging. ANC is great, and they're packed with useful features. The best price is on the black model.

Speakers

JBL Flip 7 Bluetooth speaker
Award Winner!
Save 20% (AU$35.95)
JBL Flip 7 Bluetooth speaker: was AU$179.95 now AU$144 at Amazon

It has gone lower in price before, but this is still a good deal on the Flip 7. currently the best deal I can find on the Flip 7. This Award-winning speaker delivers a sound packed with detail, insight and impact. JBL is so often the king of BT spekaers, and this model proves why.

JBL Charge 6 Bluetooth speaker
Save 20% (AU$44.95)
JBL Charge 6 Bluetooth speaker: was AU$229.95 now AU$185 at Amazon

This bigger, beefier JBL speaker also won an Award in 2025 for its powerful, punchy sound and it's ability to reveal great detail. We love how portable and tough it is too.

Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen)
Prime-exclusive
Save 40% (AU$100.95)
Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen): was AU$249.95 now AU$149 at Amazon

If you don't need a super-tough rugged exterior, this second-generation Bose SoundLink Flex, which launched in late 2024, is a good choice. While the exterior is quite sleek compared to the UE and JBL counterparts, it's still waterproof and delivers sound with a clear and detailed midrange. It's also perfectly portable, but it's perhaps best suited to being taken outside to the pool, rather than on a full hiking trip.

Ultimate Ears EPICBOOM wireless Bluetooth speaker (white)
Save 20% (AU$99.95)
Ultimate Ears EPICBOOM wireless Bluetooth speaker (white): was AU$499.95 now AU$400 at Amazon

The Ultimate Ears Epicboom delivers an expansive soundstage, backed by a strong feature set. It's not the absolute last word in musicality, but it's a great option for outdoor parties, especially with this hefty discount.

Save 15% (AU$63.54)

WiiM Sound Lite
Save 20% (AU$80)
WiiM Sound Lite: was AU$399 now AU$319 at Amazon

WiiM's first smart speaker is a success, and this Lite version is the more affordable of two models (the other is the Sound), with the main differentiator being it doesn't have a screen. You can read our WiiM Sound review for more details, but the short of it is, this is an impressive speaker with a pleasing sonic character, and we love the fact it's brimming with connectivity features.

If you do want the screen, the WiiM Sound also gets a 20% discount.

KEF LSX II LT
Save 20% (AU$339)
KEF LSX II LT: was AU$1,695 now AU$1,356 at Amazon

This dinky KEF wireless streaming system delivers a wonderful, balanced audio performance. Bass output is also admirable considering their size. Do note that this LT model requires an interconnecting cable. The non-LT version, also on sale below, does away with the cable for added convenience. The deal price here is for the white or graphite grey models.

KEF LSX II
Prime-exclusive
Save 20% (AU$460)
KEF LSX II: was AU$2,300 now AU$1,840 at Amazon

Exhibiting a similarly gorgeous design to their LS50 Meta cousins, the LSX II speaker system benefits from the esteemed brand’s Uni-Q driver that creates “a stereo image that’s like a bubble of sound”, as we said in our KEF LSX II review. All of the main wireless connectivity options are supported, along with a few physical connections and high-resolution audio. The deal price here is for multiple colours.

KEF LS50 Meta (Carbon Black)
What Hi-Fi? Awards winner
Save 20% (AU$500)
KEF LS50 Meta (Carbon Black): was AU$2,500 now AU$2,000 at Amazon

This Award-winning pair of standmount speakers deliver a tremendous sound, thanks to the benefit of KEF's innovative Metamaterial tech. Only the Carbon Black model receives the discount, and considering it's not often they receive a price drop, this is a deal you ought to consider.

Hi-Fi components

Audio-Technica Sound Burger
Save 19% (AU$80)
Audio-Technica Sound Burger: was AU$429 now AU$349 at Amazon

It has dropped to AU$213 before, but this is still a great saving on the iconic Sound Burger record player. It's cleverly designed and easy of use, and makes a fabulous entry into vinyl sound.

Sony PS-LX310BT
Save 25% (AU$100)
Sony PS-LX310BT: was AU$399 now AU$299 at Amazon

This Sony turntable is as fuss-free as they come concerning setup and getting your favourite vinyl records spinning – in fact, we liked it so much we awarded it 5/5 stars in our 2020 review. Whether you're playing via wired or wireless speakers, it delivers a delightfully musical sound that will satisfy vinyl beginners or those looking for a more hands-off approach. It has Bluetooth so can stream vinyl to your wireless speakers too. This is the lowest Amazon price we've seen, so a very worthwhile deal for a quality deck.

Prime-exclusive
Save 23% (AU$300)
Technics SL-40CBT: was AU$1,299 now AU$999 at Amazon

Technics unveiled this new spinner at IFA 2025, with the new model combining its direct-drive design with the ability to stream wirelessly over Bluetooth. Other features include an S-shaped tonearm, Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge and a built-in MM phono stage.

WiiM Pro Plus

Analogue inputs mean you can stream from your turntable or CD player too, and the sound it serves up is exceptional for the money.

WiiM Amp
Save 20% (AU$100)
WiiM Amp: was AU$499 now AU$399 at Amazon

Anyone looking for a budget streaming app should have the WiiM Amp top of their list. It's incredibly simple to use, is well-built and it's capable of delivering a lively, enjoyable sound. It is limited in its physical connections, but otherwise there isn't a lot that comes close at this price. We ultimately prefer the Amp Pro below, but if you want to spend as little as possible, the regular Amp will serve you well.

WiiM Amp Pro
Prime-exclusive
Save 20% (AU$140)
WiiM Amp Pro: was AU$699 now AU$559 at Amazon

The WiiM Amp Pro adds more power over the regular Amp, resulting in an improvement in sound quality. It maintains a compact size, and all of the streaming capabilities that make WiiM so appealing.

WiiM Ultra: was AU$599 now AU$479 at Amazon

The WiiM Ultra is a superb streamer, delivering crisp, clear sound alongside a wealth of connectivity and streaming features. The touchscreen is a nice, er, touch, although the lack of AirPlay support is surprising.

KEF KC62 Subwoofer
Save 20% (AU$501)
KEF KC62 Subwoofer: was AU$2,500 now AU$1,999 at Amazon

It's not a huge saving, we admit, but KEF's KC62 sub is an absolute beauty, and so any discount applied shouldn't be sniffed at. It offers incredibly powerful and clean bass for its tiny size, and is a breeze to set up. Available in white or titanium grey.

Home cinema

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
Prime-exclusive
Save 40% (AU$40)
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Plus: was AU$99 now AU$59 at Amazon

This isn't a new Fire streaming device, but rather a renamed Fire TV 4K. This version of Amazon's media streamer supports Dolby Vision/Atmos and HDR10+, giving you the best-possible picture quality. The one thing it doesn't have is the Alexa voice control remote, which does come with the TV Stick 4K Max.

Fire TV Cube
Prime exclusive
Save 32% (AU$70)
Fire TV Cube: was AU$219 now AU$149 at Amazon

If you're dissatisfied with the performance of your smart TV's native interface, Amazon's Fire TV Cube is the brand's top streaming device, offering lightning-fast app loading thanks to its octa-core processor – which is 2x more powerful than its Fire TV Stick 4K Max sibling (above). Via Prime Video, you can stream more than 350K movies and TV shows, with access to all of your favourite streamers and free-to-air catch-up apps, and there's a speaker so you can use it for audio even when your TV is turned off. The Fire TV Cube is basically as feature-packed as streaming devices can get.

Sony HT-S100F
Save 28% (AU$70)
Sony HT-S100F: was AU$249 now AU$179 at Amazon

Despite being over 5 years old, we still reckon this already-affordable 2-channel Sony model is the best cheap soundbar you can buy in 2026 – and this 28% discount makes it even easier to recommend. While it has been a smidge cheaper (it was AU$169 for Boxing Day 2024, for example), this is still a great price for a well-built 'bar that will improve your TV's sound with minimum hassle.

Yamaha SR-B30A soundbar
Prime-exclusive
Save 43% (AU$214.95)
Yamaha SR-B30A soundbar: was AU$499 now AU$284.05 at Amazon

While we've not reviewed this specific Yamaha soundbar, we're comfortable recommending it given that we're big fans of the Japanese company's similar SR-C30A and SR-B20A. Users also seem to love it for its relatively compact size and simplicity (it's a 5.1 channel configuration with a built-in subwoofer), not to mention its competitive price.

Xgimi Vibe One
Prime-exclusive
Save 21% (AU$124)
Xgimi Vibe One: was AU$599 now AU$475 at Amazon

We said this affordable projector "nails the basics" in our Xgimi Vibe One review, as it's able to serve up a wonderfully natural picture. You will need to tweak some contrast and sharpness settings to achieve it, but thankfully it's easy to do so.

Nebula Capsule 3 Projector
Prime-exclusive
Save 44% (AU$483.99)
Nebula Capsule 3 Projector: was AU$1,099.99 now AU$616 at Amazon

Receiving a healthy 44% off, this mini home projector from Anker can display images up to 120 inches in size, with 200 ANSI lumens of brightness. It's portable too, offering up to 2.5 hours of battery life. It didn't score that highly with us, but we appreciated its ease of use and its SDR performance.

Amazon Prime Day Australia FAQ

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is Amazon's bi-annual sales event, conceived in response to other major sales such as Black Friday. It began in 2015 as a celebration of the retail giant's 20th anniversary. While other online retailers get involved in the Black Friday bargain bun fight, Prime Day is generally all about Amazon, though you might see other retailers lowering prices at the same time in order to jump on the sales frenzy bandwagon and stay competitive during that period.

Prime Day is a big sale that encompasses most areas of the Amazon site – as well as audiovisual gear, you'll find discounts on toasters, books, clothes, and pretty much anything that Amazon sells. And that's a lot!

You'll need to be a Prime member to take advantage of the best offers. Not yet a member? Amazon’s free 30-day Prime trial gives you the option to sign up, bag a few bargains during the sale, and cancel your membership without paying a cent. Go you.

Prime Day 2026 dates: when is Prime Day in Australia?

The Big Smile Sale was the first Amazon sale of the year, and it showed up in March, running for seven days in 2026 from Monday, March 16 until Sunday, March 22.

The main Prime Day is set to kick off on Tuesday, July 7 and will run for seven days, coming to an end on Monday, July 13.

What Prime Day 2026 deals can I expect?

It's always tricky to confidently assume what deals will appear during Prime Day – although Amazon devices are a shoo-in – but based on previous Prime Day sales, we reckon JBL Bluetooth speakers, Sony wireless buds and Bose headphones are all safe bets. AirPods also tend to get a look in – whether or not the recently launched AirPods Pro 3 will get a discount remains to be seen

Popular items from previous Amazon Prime Day sales have included the Sony WH-1000XM5 and older WH-1000XM4 noise-cancelling headphones, Amazon Echo Show smart speakers and Fire TV video streamers, Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones, LG, Philips and Sony OLED TVs, and plenty more five-star products across the audio and AV space.

Sonos, Sennheiser, Sony and Bose products – particularly headphones – all come up regularly in Prime Day sales, so if you have your eye on something from one of the bigger brands, there's a good chance some money will be lopped off it.

What about hi-fi? Unfortunately, Prime Day tends to spotlight more mass-market product categories such as TVs, soundbars and Bluetooth speakers for deals, meaning that discounts on hi-fi gear are far and few between. We have seen good discounts on gear from WiiM and KEF before though, so it's not completely unheard of.

While some other retailers drop their prices to piggyback the Amazon Prime events, Black Friday remains the best time of the year to buy hi-fi at discounted prices due to many specialist hi-fi retailers getting on board the more encompassing sale.

How much does Amazon Prime cost in 2026?

First things first: to be eligible for Prime Day discounts, you need Amazon Prime. This is effectively a membership fee that gives you free standard international delivery on select orders over AU$49 or free expedited delivery (in select areas) on eligible items bought from Amazon, as well as access to the Prime Video and Amazon Music streaming services (but not Amazon Music Unlimited – that costs extra), free ebooks, and the ability to share some of these benefits with others in your household.

Amazon Prime costs AU$9.99 a month, or AU$79 if you pay yearly (saving you AU$40 compared to paying monthly). Changed your mind? You can cancel your Prime membership on the Manage Prime Membership page.

And if you haven't placed a Prime-eligible order or used any of your Prime benefits within your membership, you'll be refunded in full.

There's an Amazon Prime free trial, too. Sign up, select 'Start my free trial', and you'll have access to Prime for 30 days with nothing to pay.

That means you can sign up, take advantage of the deals, and then cancel your trial before the 30 days end and not be charged your second month's fee for Prime. Not that we would condone such behaviour, of course!

To be eligible for the trial, you can't have subscribed to Prime in the last 12 months.

Prime Day Australia 2026 shopping tips

1. Sign up for the free Prime trial
If you're new to Amazon Prime, make sure you take advantage of the 30-day free Prime trial. And remember to cancel if you don't want a monthly bill for AU$9.99 when the trial ends.

2. Google a product before buying
Not every Prime Day deal in 2026 is going to be a winner, so make sure you compare prices online before you buy, and, of course, check reviews to make sure the product is worth buying at all!

We at What Hi-Fi? work tirelessly to call out the best deals on the consumer electronics categories we cover – our job, after all, is to point customers towards the best products on the market – so if we haven't included one in our deals coverage, there's usually a good reason for it!

3. Big brands can equal big savings
Amazon often slashes the cost of a few big-brand items – think Playstation and Xbox accessories, Samsung TVs and tablets, etc – to get the attention of shoppers. Keep an eye out for these 'marquee' deals.

4. Check the Amazon Warehouse
Returned goods end up on sale at the Amazon Warehouse at a decent discount, so there's a chance you could spot an open-box bargain that beats the box-fresh Prime Day price.

5. Stay tuned to whathifi.com
Amazon unleashes thousands of deals around Prime Day, which can make it tricky to find genuine bargains on five-star tech and AV. That's why we'll be publishing an up-to-the-minute list of the very best Prime Day 2026 deals.
