US Open 2026 final preview
The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open 2026, is heading towards a grand finish as Ben Shelton looks to make history on Arthur Ashe Stadium. The American is just one win away from becoming the first US man since Andy Roddick in 2003 to lift a Grand Slam singles title.

Agreed, Zverev’s route has been relatively comfortable compared to Shelton's, with the No. 1 seed yet to face a top-10 opponent. Shelton, by contrast, has had to do it the hard way. The No. 8 seed stunned defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set quarterfinal that finished at 3:33 a.m. – the latest finish in US Open history – before overcoming fellow American Frances Tiafoe in four sets in the semifinals.
Now, with the Arthur Ashe crowd firmly behind him in what will be his first Grand Slam final, Shelton will look to produce one more upset and end America's 23-year wait for a men's singles champion.
