An excellent budget soundbar, the Sony HT-SF150 will do a lot to take your TV's audio up a notch from its built-in speakers. We gave this bar a solid four-star review, praising its premium looks, impressive scale and width, and of course, its accessible price point. Featuring HDMI (ARC) optical, and USB inputs, this bar should slot into almost any set-up.

Samsung S50B £280 £146 at Amazon (save £134)
A Dolby Atmos soundbar at this price is practically unheard of, and while we haven't tested this Samsung option, we also can't overlook this deal. With eARC, wireless streaming and support for Atmos and Virtual DTS:X, this 3.0 channel bar might be a Prime Day hidden gem.

Hisense AX5125H was £249 now £199 at Argos (save £50)
The Hisense AX5125H is a complete soundbar package, consisting of a main soundbar, subwoofer and two surround speakers. It's certainly the best system under £250 we have tested, and at this price it is even more of a bargain.

Sonos Ray £279 £199 at Amazon (save £80)
Sonos's most accessible soundbar is a convenient way of drastically upgrading your TV's sound. This bar features only an optical connection but if this isn't a dealbreaker, it makes up for any shortcomings with an energetic upbeat sound and the streaming smarts you would expect of a Sonos product.

JBL Bar 300 £350 £229 at Richer Sounds (save £121)
JBL has produced a budget soundbar that is stylish, feature-packed, and Dolby Atmos compatible. All at a price that undercuts most rivals, too. The similarly priced Sony HT-S2000 sounds notably better, however – but if your heart is set on a JBL soundbar, this is a solid choice.

Sharp HT-SB700: was £199 now £93 at Amazon (save £106)
This is a compact Dolby Atmos soundbar with a 2.0.2 speaker layout. Connectivity stretches to an HDMI eARC socket, optical input and Bluetooth streaming. The punchy-sounding bar creates scale and a decent atmosphere and is now available at an impressive discount.

Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6 was £499 now £349 at Amazon (save £150)
With the Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6 you get a hefty 'bar (96cdm wide and 11cm deep), as well as a dedicated subwoofer. With weighty, room-filling sound and impressive height effects, it's certainly not subtle but it will deliver sofa-shaking explosions.

Sony HT-S40R £350 £299 at Amazon (save £51)
Not one we have tested, but wireless 5.1 systems at this price don't come along every day. The catch is that it isn't completely wireless, requiring an included compact wireless amplifier to power the rear speakers. But, if you have the space to house it, this looks to be a decent compact system with Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, a USB port, plus optical and analogue inputs.

Sonos Beam Gen 2 £499 £449 at Amazon (save £50)
Sonos's impressive mid-level soundbar is a top-notch performer, especially at this price. Being a Sonos product, WiFi is on board as is HDMI eARC and compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

LG S70TY was £599 now £223 at Amazon (save £376)
This four-star LG soundbar doesn't quite hit the heights of the very best in class, but it's still a well-rounded package that's not only easy to listen to, but easy to live with. The package includes a subwoofer and soundbar, offering a 3.1.1-channel configuration.

JBL Bar 1300 £1299 £649 at Peter Tyson (save £650)
JBL's Bar 1300 is an interesting system, combining a hefty soundbar with a subwoofer featuring a downwards-firing driver. What's more, the ends of the soundbar are detachable and can be used as rear surround speakers. All in all, it presents audio confidently across a seamless soundfield. You need to be a 'PT VIP' to get this price, but signing up is quick and free.

The Q990D is a complete 11.1.4 Dolby Atmos home cinema in a box, and it sounds big, spacious, enveloping and punchy. A great system that is becoming better value all the time, and can often be found at a cheaper price than its successor.

Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar Plus £1299 £799 at Sevenoaks (save £500)
Sennheiser's Ambeo Plus impresses with a wide, spacious sound field, excellent musical ability, and a fine spread of useful features and connectivity options. HDMI inputs are included, as are several different steaming options, from Bluetooth to Spotify Connect. The Ambeo Plus sits among the best Dolby Atmos soundbars at this level.
