Looking for bookshelf speakers that can do it all? Then you're in luck.

The multimedia-focused Edifier M90 may be compact, but it has more connections than you can shake a soundbar at, including an HDMI eARC port for your TV.

It's currently on sale at Amazon – but you can save an extra 10 per cent with our exclusive code UA8KYKLX, bringing the grand total down to $266.

However, if you're after studio monitors for reference listening, you might want to consider the Edifier MR5 instead.

The tri-amped powered speakers are designed for accurate sound reproduction and can also be snagged with 10 per cent off at Amazon thanks to the code M9MDPB6H.

The biggest strength of the Edifier M90 are, of course, their myriad connectivity options. With Bluetooth 6.0, aux, optical, USB-C and HDMI all included, the M90 can be used with just about any device – including your TV, with the HDMI eARC connection allowing the pair to double as TV speakers without a loss of audio quality.

Even better, all of these connections can be used simultaneously, with the included remote able to switch between them seamlessly. The push of a button is all it takes to switch from your turntable to your Bluetooth smartphone to your TV.

At 21 x 13 x 26cm (hwd), the Edifier M90 are compact enough to fit in most spaces. Despite their small stature, the speakers should easily fill a desktop setup or a medium-sized living room thanks to each speaker's one-inch tweeter and four-inch mid-bass driver, which together deliver 100W of amplification.

Bluetooth streaming supports the LDAC codec with transmission rates up to 990 kbps, while the Connex app lets you customize the remote’s EQ buttons and tweak settings on a nine-band equalizer.

Unlike the M90's focus on multimedia use, the Edifier MR5 are powered studio monitors, but are no less lacking in features.

In terms of connectivity, there are balanced XLR inputs and TRS inputs, RCA inputs and a front-facing 3.5mm aux port. Add in Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC support, and that's five powerful ways to play your audio.

Speaking of audio, there's also comprehensive control over the particulars with the Edifier ConneX app. This includes dual preset sound modes, customizable EQs and room compensation algorithms.

And the actual speakers themselves? A tri-amped, active-crossover system, made up of a 3.75-inch mid driver, a 1-inch silk dome tweeter and a side-ported, downward-facing 5-inch woofer. With 110W of total output power, they're ideal for music production, video editing, or just everyday listening.

This is all the more impressive as the MR5s are also rather compact, coming in at 26 x 16 x 28 cm (hwd).

Whether you're a casual listener, audio professional or somewhere in between, there's plenty to like about the Edifier MR5 – especially with 10 per cent off at Amazon using the code M9MDPB6H.
