Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2025 day 7: the best Australian headphone, hi-fi and home cinema discounts now live
Amazon's big October Prime sale is back for another round in 2025, and there's still excellent audio and AV bargains worth considering

The Prime Day AV deals are continuing and we're now entering the final day. That means you only have hours to act on the discounts we've highlighted below – or less, as there have been a fair few products that have sold out.
The good news is there are still plenty of great deals across speakers, headphones and other audio gear before the sale officially comes to a close tonight on Monday, October 13 at 11:59pm AEDT.
As is often the case with Prime Day deals, I've noticed some products have dropped further in price compared to the start of the sale. That's obviously a bit annoying for people who snapped up items at the beginning, but good news if you managed to resist the urge to splurge.
Remember, to access Prime Day deals, you'll need to be a Prime member. If you're not, you can sign up for a free 30-day Prime trial to take full advantage.
All of the recommendations are approved by What Hi-Fi? – the products featured have either been tested by our expert reviews team or are closely related to a product they have tested (a 55-inch TV, when we've only reviewed the 65-inch version, say).
Every entry on our list is also thoroughly price-checked, with the product's recent price history factored in, to ensure you're actually getting a good deal.
Amazon Prime Day 2025: best deals now live
Headphones
If your budget can't stretch to a pair of Sony XM5 or XM4 headphones, this more affordable option makes sensible compromises to significantly lower the price, which is even better for Prime Day 2025. The WH-CH720N are our favourite Bluetooth over-ears at this price, with fantastic sound and noise cancellation.
If you're finding yourself a bit baffled by Bose's huge range of QuietComfort headphones, we don't blame you. This SC variant gets you the audio brand's current mainstream (and well-regarded) noise-cancelling over-ears with a soft carry case – thus the 'SC' – rather than the hard case the regular version comes with. The cans themselves are identical. We haven't reviewed this pair but they are a modest update on the four-star QuietComfort 45, which we praised for superb noise-cancelling and, OK battery life and decent sound. This price is about AU$7 better than their all-time Amazon low, so well worth nabbing.
Sennheiser's fourth generation wireless over-ear cans are superb. They sound great, have effective ANC, solid battery life at 60 hours and an excellent app. No wonder they scored a five-star review. The price here is for the black/copper model, and it's the real standout for us. Other colours get individual discounts.
This Award-winning set of headphones is a fine Prime Day purchase. As we noted in our WH-1000XM5 review, "If you are looking for a new pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones, your auditioning should start here." Packed with incredible sound quality, great noise-cancelling and a superb range of features. Note that this deal is for the soft-case version.
Sennheiser's delivered something special with the HD 620S, which offer the expansive and spacious acoustics of open-back headphones in a closed-back design. This audiophile-grade pair of over-ears earned 4 stars in our Sennheiser HD 620S review, where we praised their "detailed and smooth sound". With a massive 58% off their Aussie RRP, we have no reservations recommending them to those who enjoy open-back sound.
Bose continues its class-leading noise-cancellation legacy with the QuietComfort Ultra headphones and backs that up with exceptional sound quality. We personally weren't too convinced by the new Immersive Audio mode, but the fact it doesn't discriminate against source or streaming service means there is still plenty of appeal. Now discounted to AU$429 in White and Ruby. If you'd prefer a darker colourway, the Black and Lunar Blue variants are AU$449.
These true wireless buds are a bargain at their full price, so picking a pair up for 33% off is something of a no-brainer if you want good sound but are on a super tight budget. Despite launching in 2020, we still rate the Earfun Airs 5/5 in our review – and they're one of the cheapest sets of earbuds we're comfortable recommending.
As the winner of a What Hi-Fi? 2024 Award, it's incredibly easy to recommend the WF-C510: they're compact, comfortable, IPX4 water resistant, and serve up a delightful, balanced sound – punching well about their sub-AU$100 price tag. Their one shortcoming is that they don't offer active noise cancelling, but given they have decent passive noise isolation (like most rubber-tip equipped in-ears) that shouldn't be an issue for most people. Currently this price is only for the white colourway.
If you can afford the extra and want noise-cancelling, these model-up Sonys on the WF-C510 above are a fantastic pick, earning 5 stars in our 2024 WF-C700N review. These deliver sensational sound quality and offer 7.5 hours of battery life per charge, multipoint Bluetooth and IPX4 water resistance, plus ANC. Also available in black.
Sony's LinkBuds S are its alternative flagship wireless in-ears, and they're both smaller and lighter than their WF-1000XM5 counterparts, so they're more comfortable to wear, particularly for long periods. As we noted in our 4-star LinkBuds S review, they're still water resistant and offer both good audio quality and noise-reduction. They're also currently hugely cheaper than the XM5s via this Amazon deal, which knocks an impressive 54% off the RRP. Available in both black and white with this discount.
These 4-star open earbuds from Bose offer a musical and entertaining sound, while also providing a comfortable and secure fit. If you've been tempted by the prospect of open earbuds, whereby the earpiece doesn't go into the ear canal, then Bose's debut pair are worthy of consideration. Just note they're only available in Moonstone Blue and Iridescent Sunset colourways.
If you're an Apple user, the AirPods Pro 2 makes a lot of sense. Serving up a comfortable fit, great sound and decent noise-cancellation, not to mention seamless connectivity. This price isn't the lowest we've seen from Amazon (they were even briefly down to AU$288 in this October sale) but this is still a reasonable discount on the RRP.
These in-ear monitors will provide a stronger connection to your source devices, and can help make the most of the best headphone DACs. You’ll be rewarded with a gorgeous, high-fidelity sound. And, being Sennheiser, they’re impeccably built and are super comfortable to wear for longer sessions.
We gave these stunning earbuds 5 stars out of 5 in our Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 review, praising their rich, detailed and dynamic sound and comfortable fit. ANC isn't quite best-in-class, but they still do a mighty fine job of blocking out external noise. They're simply terrific, especially at this price.
These Technics buds deliver a sound packed with detail and clarity, and one that is entirely engaging. ANC is great, and they're packed with useful features.
Speakers
Already pretty affordable, and now even more so thanks to this 56% discount – the JBL Clip 4 make an appealing option for anyone looking for an ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker who size of sound belies its small form factor. It's fully waterproof and a built-in carabiner clip means you can attach it to almost anything. This deal matches Amazon's previous all-time low price and is available in four colourways.
With top-notch sound and a durable waterproof build designed to withstand life's mishaps and challenges, the JBL Flip 6 is a sturdy, reliable bit of kit for enjoying tunes on the go. While its newer Flip 7 sibling does offer some improvements, this deal more than makes up for the price difference; the Flip 7 carries an RRP of AU$179.95, and despite its age, this older model still thoroughly impresses. Five stars
While Amazon had this model for AU$12 less in July and it's technically been superseded by the newer Charge 6, we still love the Charge 5's combination of ruggedness, portability, easy-to-use features and overall punchy, detailed and engaging sound, not to mention how good-value it is. Even though it's not an all-time low, at this price the Award-winning Charge 5 is still one of the top portable Bluetooth speakers you can buy. Highly recommend.
If you don't need a super-tough rugged exterior, this second-generation Bose SoundLink Flex, which launched in late 2024, is a good choice. While the exterior is quite sleek compared to the UE and JBL counterparts, it's still waterproof and delivers sound with a clear and detailed midrange. It's also perfectly portable, but it's perhaps best suited to being taken outside to the pool, rather than on a full hiking trip. Three colours are available for the deal price here, which is a record Aussie low.
The Ultimate Ears Epicboom delivers an expansive soundstage, backed by a strong feature set. It's not the absolute last word in musicality, but it's a great option for outdoor parties, especially with this hefty discount.
The Bose SoundLink Plus is a rugged, portable and entertaining speaker. It sports an impressive IP67 rating, meaning it can comfortably survive outdoors. It's not packed with features, but it's definitely packed with sound offering rich, full-bodied sonic presentation that will bring music to your summer and beyond.
Hi-Fi components
This Sony turntable is as fuss-free as they come concerning setup and getting your favourite vinyl records spinning – in fact, we liked it so much we awarded it 5/5 stars in our 2020 review. Whether you're playing via wired or wireless speakers, it delivers a delightfully musical sound that will satisfy vinyl beginners or those looking for a more hands-off approach. It has Bluetooth so can stream vinyl to your wireless speakers too. This is the lowest Amazon price we've seen, so a very worthwhile deal for a quality deck.
This JBL turntable is a surefire winner in the budget space. It has a great quality built-in phono output making connection to an amplifier as easy as possible (but you can by pass it if you wish) or you can stream via Bluetooth to a wireless speaker. We'd obviously recommend using the phono output first, but streaming via Bluetooth is a lot more convenient! The black and red colourway in our pic has sold out, but you can still nab the very similar black/gold version at this price.
A 2023 What Hi-Fi? Award winner for good reason, the WiiM Pro Plus is an incredibly talented streamer that support virtually any source you can think of, be it a music or internet radio service, or music stored on a server thanks to DLNA compatibility. Analogue inputs mean you can stream from your turntable or CD player too, and the sound it serves up is exceptional for the money.
Anyone looking for a budget streaming app should have the WiiM Amp top of their list. It's incredibly simple to use, is well-built and it's capable of delivering a lively, enjoyable sound. It is limited in its physical connections, but otherwise there isn't a lot that comes close at this price. We ultimately prefer the Amp Pro below, but if you want to spend as little as possible, the regular Amp will serve you well.
The WiiM Amp Pro adds more power over the regular Amp, resulting in an improvement in sound quality. It maintains a compact size, and all of the streaming capabilities that make WiiM so appealing.
The WiiM Ultra is a superb streamer, delivering crisp, clear sound alongside a wealth of connectivity and streaming features. The touchscreen is a nice, er, touch, although the lack of AirPlay support is surprising.
It's not a huge saving, we admit, but KEF's KC62 sub is an absolute beauty, and so any discount applied shouldn't be sniffed at. It offers incredibly powerful and clean bass for its tiny size, and is a breeze to set up. Available in white or black.
Home cinema
It's been a little cheaper in some previous sales (it was AU$59 for Boxing Day 2024, for example), but with an impressive spec list, full range of Australian streaming apps, and an easy-to-navigate interface – particularly when using the bundled Alexa remote – the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max offers plug-and-play Ultra HD streaming at a very nice price.
The Fire TV Stick 4K is down 40% to AU$59, too, while the entry-level Fire TV Stick HD is reduced to AU$49, or 29% off.
It might be a fews years old now, but the Sony X90L is still a fantastic TV option, especially in this 85-inch guise. We praised its bright, impactful picture quality in our review, and could only really fault it for having jus two HDMI 2.1 ports.
85-inch too big? Grab the 65-inch model for AU$1,749.
Despite being over 5 years old, we still reckon this already-affordable 2-channel Sony model is the best cheap soundbar you can buy in 2025 – and this AU25% discount makes it even easier to recommend. While it has been a smidge cheaper (it was AU$169 for Boxing Day 2024, for example), this is still a great price for a well-built 'bar that will improve your TV's sound with minimum hassle.
While we've not reviewed this specific Yamaha soundbar, we're comfortable recommending it given that we're big fans of the Japanese company's similar SR-C30A and SR-B20A. Users also seem to love it for its relatively compact size and simplicity (it's a 5.1 channel configuration with a built-in subwoofer), not to mention its competitive price. Speaking of, while this discount isn't quite the biggest ever (it was AU$15 cheaper for Black Friday last year) it's still exceptional value.
A soundbar, subwoofer and rear channel satellite speakers, the components in Yamaha’s True X soundbar system combine well to create a cohesive and enveloping soundfield, sounding exciting and detailed with both movies and music. For smaller spaces and the discounted price, this combination offers a satisfying listening experience.
A previous What Hi-Fi? Award winner, this Sennheiser soundbar boasts 13 speaker drivers within its rather large body, which it uses to deliver a powerful, articulated sound that fills and envelops a room, all without the need for a wireless subwoofer or rear speakers. It’s a big unit, and it is heavy, but it produces a sound unlike any other soundbar. The price here includes an extra AU$150 saving at checkout for Prime members.
Receiving a healthy 54% off, this mini home projector from Anker can display images up to 120 inches in size, with 200 ANSI lumens of brightness. It's portable too, offering up to 2.5 hours of battery life. It didn't score that highly with us, but we appreciated its ease of use and its SDR performance.
This UST projector might be on the more expensive side, but it delivers a spectacular image out-of-the-box thanks to high brightness and vibrant colour output. HDR content is handled well as a result. We did find some rainbow effect interference in our review, but overall, this is a solid option for anyone wanting to ditch a TV.
Something a little different now, the Bravia Theatre U. As we found in our review, this neckband-cum-speaker delivers genuinely good sound. It's a little fussy to set up and we wish there was more bass, but if you want to try this personal audio device, this is a great price to do so.
Prime Day FAQ
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is Amazon's bi-annual sales event, conceived in response to other major sales such as Black Friday. It began in 2015 as a celebration of the retail giant's 20th anniversary. While other online retailers get involved in the Black Friday bargain bun fight, Prime Day is generally all about Amazon, though you might see other retailers lowering prices at the same time in order to jump on the sales frenzy bandwagon and stay competitive during that period.
Prime Day is a big sale that encompasses most areas of the Amazon site – as well as audiovisual gear, you'll find discounts on toasters, books, clothes, and pretty much anything that Amazon sells. And that's a lot!
You'll need to be a Prime member to take advantage of the best offers. Not yet a member? Amazon’s free 30-day Prime trial gives you the option to sign up, bag a few bargains during the sale, and cancel your membership without paying a cent. Go you.
Prime Day 2025 dates: when is Prime Day in Australia?
Prime Day has gotten longer and longer over recent years, and in 2025, Prime Day has been its longest-ever at 7 whole days. The July sale was the first to last a full week, kicking off on Tuesday, 8th July and running until Monday, 14th July.
It's a similar story for Prime Big Deal Days this month, as it started today, Tuesday, 7th October and will run until Monday, 13th October.
Speaking from experience in covering Prime Day sales in Australia, we also expect deals from Germany, Japan, the UK and the US to be available to Australian shoppers through the Amazon Global Store, once the Australian sale has officially come to a close, meaning Aussie Prime members could take advantage of many more hours of deals.
What Prime Day 2025 deals can I expect?
It's always tricky to confidently assume what deals will appear during Prime Day – although Amazon devices are a shoo-in – but based on previous Prime Day sales, we reckon JBL Bluetooth speakers, Sony wireless buds and Bose headphones are all safe bets. AirPods also tend to get a look in – whether or not the recently launched AirPods Pro 3 will get a discount remains to be seen
Popular items from previous Amazon Prime Day sales have included the Sony WH-1000XM5 and older WH-1000XM4 noise-cancelling headphones, Amazon Echo Show smart speakers and Fire TV video streamers, Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones, LG, Philips and Sony OLED TVs, and plenty more five-star products across the audio and AV space.
Sonos, Sennheiser, Sony and Bose products – particularly headphones – all come up regularly in Prime Day sales, so if you have your eye on something from one of the bigger brands, there's a good chance some money will be lopped off it.
What about hi-fi? Unfortunately, Prime Day tends to spotlight more mass-market product categories such as TVs, soundbars and Bluetooth speakers for deals, meaning that discounts on hi-fi gear are far and few between. We have seen good discounts on gear from WiiM and KEF before though, so it's not completely unheard of.
While some other retailers drop their prices to piggyback the Amazon Prime events, Black Friday remains the best time of the year to buy hi-fi at discounted prices due to many specialist hi-fi retailers getting on board the more encompassing sale.
How much does Amazon Prime cost in 2025?
First things first: to be eligible for Prime Day discounts, you need Amazon Prime. This is effectively a membership fee that gives you free standard international delivery on select orders over AU$49 or free expedited delivery (in select areas) on eligible items bought from Amazon, as well as access to the Prime Video and Amazon Music streaming services (but not Amazon Music Unlimited – that costs extra), free ebooks, and the ability to share some of these benefits with others in your household.
Amazon Prime costs AU$9.99 a month, or AU$79 if you pay yearly (saving you AU$40 compared to paying monthly). Changed your mind? You can cancel your Prime membership on the Manage Prime Membership page.
And if you haven't placed a Prime-eligible order or used any of your Prime benefits within your membership, you'll be refunded in full.
There's an Amazon Prime free trial, too. Sign up, select 'Start my free trial', and you'll have access to Prime for 30 days with nothing to pay.
That means you can sign up, take advantage of the deals, and then cancel your trial before the 30 days end and not be charged your second month's fee for Prime. Not that we would condone such behaviour, of course!
To be eligible for the trial, you can't have subscribed to Prime in the last 12 months.
Prime Day 2025 shopping tips
1. Sign up for the free Prime trial
If you're new to Amazon Prime, make sure you take advantage of the 30-day free Prime trial. And remember to cancel if you don't want a monthly bill for AU$9.99 when the trial ends.
2. Google a product before buying
Not every Prime Day 2025 deal is going to be a winner, so make sure you compare prices online before you buy, and, of course, check reviews to make sure the product is worth buying at all!
We at What Hi-Fi? work tirelessly to call out the best deals on the consumer electronics categories we cover – our job, after all, is to point customers towards the best products on the market – so if we haven't included one in our deals coverage, there's usually a good reason for it!
3. Big brands can equal big savings
Amazon often slashes the cost of a few big-brand items – think Playstation and Xbox accessories, Samsung TVs and tablets, etc – to get the attention of shoppers. Keep an eye out for these 'marquee' deals.
4. Check the Amazon Warehouse
Returned goods end up on sale at the Amazon Warehouse at a decent discount, so there's a chance you could spot an open-box bargain that beats the box-fresh Prime Day price.
5. Stay tuned to whathifi.com
Amazon unleashes thousands of deals around Prime Day, which can make it tricky to find genuine bargains on five-star tech and AV. That's why we'll be publishing an up-to-the-minute list of the very best Prime Day 2025 deals.
Max is a staff writer for What Hi-Fi?'s sister site, TechRadar, in Australia. But being the wonderful English guy he is, he helps out with content across a number of Future sites, including What Hi-Fi?. It wouldn't be his first exposure to the world of all things hi-fi and home cinema, as his first role in technology journalism was with What Hi-Fi? in the UK. Clearly he pined to return after making the move to Australia and the team have welcomed him back with arms wide open.
