Las Vegas hasn't been a happy hunting ground for McLaren. Lando Norris took P6 last year after crashing out 12 months prior, while Oscar Piastri managed a P7 and P10. Norris, 24 points clear of Piastri and 49 better-off than Max Verstappen, doesn't need to gamble this weekend, but with the Mercedes and Ferrari duos likely to make up four of the top five come Sunday's chequered flag, how safe does he dare to play it? We'll show how to watch Las Vegas Grand Prix live streams from anywhere in the world, including free options.

Las Vegas Grand Prix 2025: preview

A realistic worst-case scenario could see Verstappen race to victory, and George Russell, Charles Leclerc, Kimi Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton and Piastri provide the meat in a Vegas-sized sandwich. That would cut Norris' lead over Verstappen to 30 points, with two GPs and a Sprint to go – not enough to send Andrea Stella and Zak Brown scuttling to the panic stations, perhaps, but certainly enough to put the Dutchman back in Norris' wing-mirror.

Being a night race in the desert, the Las Vegas Grand Prix is comfortably the coldest GP on the calendar, something that tends to produce eye-catching results. It's in Sin City that the Silver Arrows registered their only 1-2 of the 2024 season, one that saw Russell secure victory from pole and Hamilton scythe through the field from P10. However, the Mercedes is a bit more of an all-rounder this year, which may impact its Vegas advantage.

Ferrari have enjoyed their visits to Nevada too and, coming off a double-DNF and having failed to win a single GP all season, this is their last hope of salvaging some pride from an abomination of a campaign. It's been four years since the Scuderia went an entire season without winning a single Grand Prix.
