NEWS: Top-Up TV price cut 'in time for Christmas'

It may only be August, but in ConsumerElectronicsLand the festive season is looming large. That's why Top-Up TV has just announced an immediate price-cut on its set-top receiver/recorder box, down from £140 to £100, "in time for the start of the Christmas shopping season".

The Top-Up TV+ box, which allows you to receive, pause and record Freeview channels, is now one of least expensive Freeview PVRs you can buy. It has twin tuners, to record one show while watching another, or record two channels at once, and a 160GB hard drive able to store up to 120 hours of TV.

It also comes with a one-month free trial of Top-Up TV's Anytime service, which downloads programmes from the likes of Paramount, Disney and Discover overnight for later viewing. Users can also top-up their Top-Up TV service, adding Picture Box or Setanta Sports.
