The 2022 Miami Grand Prix is starts at 8.30pm BST today, 8th May, and Charles Leclerc starts on pole. Red Bull's Sergio Perez has branded the slippery surface "a joke", so we could see cars slip-sliding all over the Miami International Autodrome. US fans can watch the full race free on ABC, so make sure you know how to watch a Miami Grand Prix free live stream from abroad when away from home.

The weekend's 2022 Miami Grand Prix schedule is:

Sunday 8th May: Miami Grand Prix (8.30pm BST / 3.30pm EST)

Last week, the Red Bulls dominated a damp Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Dutch superstar Max Verstappen revived his title hopes by taking top spot on the podium, while Championship leader Charles Leclerc of Monaco threw away third place and ended up sixth. That leaves Leclerc on 89 points, just 26 points ahead of Max going into Miami.

There's plenty of of hype around the Miami Grand Prix. The all-new track features a fake marina, and we've been promised an opening ceremony "worthy of a Super Bowl".

Ready for Formula 1's big American move? The 2022 Miami Grand Prix takes place over 57 laps of the 5.412km Miami International Autodrome. The Miami GP weather is forecast to be a cloudy 32°C with a slight chance of rain.

US fans can watch today's full race free on ABC (use a VPN to access your local free streams when abroad). We've listed all the ways to watch F1 in HD from your TV, tablet and mobile below.

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) helps you get around this obstacle. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, helping you access local streams from where you are – and saving you money!
