My new Kef Q500's & Q200c
just upgraded my speakers to kef Q500's and the matching centre, i have had some good speakers in the past..pmc..monitor audio RX6..Monitor audio RS1's...Bowers & wilkins 603 s3's and M1's and i cant whole hearedly say these are my absolute favourite.

Still running in at the moment but already stunning..
next step chord odyssey 4 core cable and im done...for now lol.
It only has to sound as good as it looks, and it will be mighty.
dispersion of the sound is just amazing int it?

oh yes..just watched fast & the furious 5 and the new pirates of the carribean and my jaw is still on the floor, amazing does'nt come close.

It's all down to the Power Chords, ya know!

yep kef have done well with this one, dispersion is sublime as is the tight bass and stunnning vocals..these are superb for both movies and music and are not bothered about placement, which was a major plus for me. a superb all rounder and a bargain with 20% off at the moment.
Well done Stig.
Due to the UniQ and Waveguide, your KEF's have the widest dispersion of any speaker in their price range, making them the best hi-fi speakers for movies. Their sealed cabinet also makes them ideal for near wall placement, although a little space will improve their already excellent three dimensional image. KEF are on a roll at the moment, which looks set to continue for some time. Enjoy
cheers david,
ive just bi-amped them and i can't stop
to say im impressed is a bit of an under statement kef are definitely on to a winner with these..
Good move....bi amping these babies makes a big difference!!
Chord Odyssey cable is the way to go too......
Don't forget to bi wire the centre so you can avoid those horrid knobs on the back (good idea, but robs these speakers of SQ!!). Again, it'll improve the SQ, no end....
cheers pete, its all bi-amped and the center is bi-wired as well, i have listened to the odyssey and to be honest the copper cable is actually better, i was quite happy to keep my odyssey cable but for some reason the kefs imo don't like odyssey...many other people on different forums have had the same experience and opted for all copper systems/cables..
I read about that too......
So I did some comparisons for myself as I had some old Chord Carnival silverscreen that i used to have in the system.
I bi amped both, and found I prefered the clear, brighter, more detailed presentation that I found with the Odyssey 2.
Obviously I can totally understand why other's may prefer the extra midrange depth the silverscreen offered.
Ultimately it's down to personal taste.....my ears must like a slighly brighter, detailed presentation.
Luckily my wife and friends felt the same....
Enjoy...
As if they had any choice !!!!!

It's not really down to choice - Pete wears the Power Pants in his house

I've got a pair of those......not worth a f*@k!!
'Power Pants'.......you been watching the CBEEBIES channel again, David???
