Two more Freesat LCD TVs on the way from Panasonic

Panasonic TX-32LZD81

The new Freesat models are both Full HD (1080p) LCDs, available in 32in and 37in screen sizes – the £900 TX-32LZD81 and £1050 TX-37LZD81.

Freesat offers subscription-free high-definition programming via satellite from the BBC and ITV. To take advantage of this, Panasonic says the new LZD81 series has a claimed contrast ratio of 10,000:1, while its Intelligent Scene Controller (ISC) ensures deep black levels and crisp on-screen motion.

Picture quality is further enhanced with x.v. Colour and V-Real Pro 3 picture processing technology, says Panasonic.

Sound is taken care of by V-Audio Surround and Bass Boost Enhancement, and there are three HDMI sockets for connecting external sources such as a DVD or Blu-ray player.

Planning your TV viewing is made easier using the Freesat and Gemstar GuidePlus seven-day electronic programme guides (EPGs) built into the sets (one for satellite broadcasts, one for terrestrial digital services), and Viera Link enables one remote control to handle numerous compatible Panasonic devices.

Other niceties include a PC input, SD card slot and an Eco Mode that automatically adjusts the picture settings depending on the ambient lighting conditions.
