Zeppelin Air or Sonos Play:5?
Hello, I'm a bit new to to all this so please bear with me. I'm torn between the Zeppelin Air or the Sonos Play:5 and Airport Express, I will mostly be streaming from Spotify and a little stored on an iPad. Has anyone listened to both systems? Good points and bad points of both systems are welcomed. Thanks, Tone.
+1 to bigboss' reply and can confirm the Air sounds loverly.
Sonos CEO & founder has claimed that a couple of Sonos Play 3s working together as a stereo offers superior sound than any premium iPod docks in the market today at a similar price. The speaker can be used on its own, or as a pair for stereo sound

“The development of the Play:3 means we can now compete with the likes of the Bose SoundDock and B&W Zeppelin,” says Sonos EMEA PR manager Fiede Schillmoeller.

To get Spotify with the Air, AFAIK you'll need both the iPad and iTunes running. With Sonos, it'll get Spotify directly from t'interwebs.
Go for sonos for these reasons:
1. 2*P3 work well and sound very good, better stereo imaging than any doc system
2. Uses its own network, does not suffer from dropouts if son is on PS3.
3. P5 is also portable (zep isn't portable)
4. Controller software is free and works well on smartphones.
5. it is expandable (which you will do when you get into it) and soooooo simple to set and use.
6. it has far more music services that increase what you listen to, experience and eventually buy.
7. Customer service/dealers are excellent.
I went for Sonos after two years of procrastinating and research/trying out, and withut sounding cheesy it is the best decision I ever made.

The big advantage of a Sonos is its mesh network offering superior multi room music if you wish to upgrade in the future. If it's only 1 room, the Zeppelin Air offers superior sound.
