As another poster suggested earlier, you could try a set of Tellurium Q Blues - this cable should live well with your somewhat harsh amp.
Good cables do not just "tweak" the sound - you should notice a significant difference (but there might be a settling-in period, as with audio equipment) - if the improvement isn't there, return it.
Rega Brio-R integrated amp, Rega Apollo-R cd player, Tellurium Q Green speaker cables, Tellurium Q Black interconnects, Rega Isis/Osiris mains power cables, KEF LS50 speakers.
First off my amplifier does not sound harsh at all, give it a listen and then make your comments. I just want new cables, hence i have had these for a few years now with cheaper equipment, therefore i just wanted an upgrade in cables, and people are instantly telling me how to do this and that ... i just wanted sugestions on what cables was good, not peoples personal opinions towards using better cables, rather than standard electrical cable, i have some cheaper cable aswell and i have tested it and there is a HUGE difference.
You could give Audiquest Type-4 or AudioQuest GO-4 a try.
HAve you filled your stands with anything, that may help produce more bass?
Van Damme Blue has plenty of fans.
Another recommendation here for Audioquest cables...
8TB OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro QX2 > Mac Mini (8gb Ram) > Pure Music / Itunes > Audioquest Carbon USB > M2Tech Young DAC / Audioquest Columbia (72v DBS) RCA > Marantz PM-KI Pearl Lite > Audioquest Rocket 88 (72v DBS) (Bi-Amp config) > PMC DB1i's > Atacama Aurora 6's (Atabite Premium Filled)
