REL is using Bristol to introduce its new Serie R range of subwoofers, replacing the old R-Series – its first new design in four years.
Enhancements include improved amplification, better filter networks and upgraded cabinet and driver designs.
There are three models in the range: the £799 R-218, due out next week; plus the £999 R-328 and £1299 R-528, available now.
The latter two have both an active front-firing and a down-firing passive radiator, while the R-218 has a single active down-firing driver.
All three have separate rotary controls for hi/low volume, LFE volume and crossover frequency. There are dedicated hi level and low level inputs too.
More after the break
Class D amplification is used throughout the range: 250W in the case of the R-218, 350W on the R-328 and 500W on the R-528.
Each one is finished in piano black lacquer. They're being demonstrated here in partnership with an Onkyo AV receiver and Blu-ray player, Optoma HD87 projector and Sonus Toy five-channel speaker system.
REL will also shortly replace its T Series with two new models: the £650 T7 and £750 T9. You can see prototypes of both in the REL room here at the show.
