Impressive LG TVs to suit all tastes and budgets
If you are on the hunt for a TV to add to your home cinema system, then you have almost certainly come across a few models from LG. That's not a big surprise considering the Korean AV giant has produced a range of top-performing models on offer.
The brand has snagged numerous five-star reviews, and it multiple TVs have snagged What Hi-Fi? Awards, with two of the models on this list taking home the gold in their categories.
While there is tough competition from the likes of Samsung, Sony and Panasonic, LG is still one of the first company that pops into our minds when we think of OLED TVs, which is evident by the aforementioned strong reviews and Award wins.
We've compiled our favourite models in LG's current range for you to peruse below. You will also find out how we test LG TVs, and each entry includes a link to our full review for each model. Scroll down to find out which LG TVs make this exclusive list.

29th October 2026: Added LG 65-inch C6 as Best Overall, LG 42-inch C6 as Best Small, and LG 65-inch G6 as Best Premium. 20th August 2026: Added LG C5 to Best New section, updated page to reflect current market. 5th March 2026: All entries replaced with 2025 models (C5 and G5), and new entries (C4 and 48-inch C5) added to the also consider section too.
I'm What Hi-Fi's Team AV Senior Staff Writer, and I've reviewed countless OLED TVs in my nearly four-year tenure. During that time, I've reviewed, or helped to review, many LG TVs, from the C3, C4 and C5 models to the latest iterations of the showstopping G-series range. I know what makes a good OLED TV, and while LG hasn't always earned the top spot, I do know that the Korean AV giant took back control in 2025 with the exceptional C5, which takes no less than two spots on this list.

The LG C6 is the latest OLED to join the C-series ranks, and it only improves upon its predecessor’s performance which makes it our top recommendation if you want an LG TV.
One of the most notable new additions with the C6 is LG’s new Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor. This allows for more precise tone and colour management, and the new AI HDR Remastering “analyses each frame of video content, enhancing contrast, sharpness, and colour for improved image quality”.
That fresh processor certainly makes a difference. The C6’s OLED picture is brighter, richer and more refined than its predecessor. In our review of the 65-inch model, we found that the slightly more realistic reds and oranges give skin tones “a greater sense of vitality without pushing them into artificial territory”.
Where the C5 delivered an underwhelming sound performance during testing, the C6 offers a more controlled and clean audio quality. Bass isn’t necessarily deeper, but it is tighter and more composed, avoiding the distortion that occasionally crept into the previous model at higher volumes. It’s still no substitute for a dedicated sound system, of course, but by the standards of TVs in this class, the C6 delivers a pleasingly capable audio performance.
There are great offerings for gamers as well, as all four HDMI ports support the full HDMI 2.1 feature set, including 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM and Dolby Vision.
With this C6 model, LG has set a new benchmark for step-down OLED models.

This premium model is an absolute stunner so if you have the cash to splash, then LG’s G6 is a great choice.
It boasts a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel (the same as the older G5), which uses a ‘four-stack’ panel structure to try and help an OLED offer higher peak and operating brightness levels, while retaining colour volume and accuracy, even during low-light scenes.
New for the G6, though, is the Reflection Free Premium display certification, which promises to reduce reflections to less than 0.5 per cent. Under the hood, you will also find the Alpha 11 Gen 3 AI processor, offering “20 per cent higher” peak brightness levels than the already dazzling G5.
These technological innovations really pay off when it comes to the TV’s picture performance, as it delivers a rich, dazzling and thoroughly engaging cinematic experience. Detail is abundant, and the lighting control that this TV possesses is truly showstopping.
In every shot, the G6 feels slightly brighter, richer and more nuanced than its accomplished predecessor.
When it comes to audio, it’s not the best we have heard but it is definitely a step in the right direction for LG. The G6 delivers a fuller, more robust sound than the G5, but is not organised and punchy enough to properly impress. This can be rectified by the inclusion of an external sound system.

Want that exceptional C6 picture in a smaller package? Need a gaming display that's equally at home on a desk as it is in a living room? The 42-inch C6 proves that small screens don't mean smaller cinematic impact, as this pint-sized OLED is an Award-winning stunner.
It's our recommendation to those looking for a smaller OLED TV, as it packs most of the same features as its larger counterpart, all while taking up much less space.
We noted while watching Civil War that “foliage looks crisp and verdant without straying into over-vibrant shades of green, and there is a real sense of three-dimensionality to the picture”.
Much like the other models on this list, it doesn't stack up quite as well when it comes to the sound, which is why we've recommended pairing it with a compact Dolby Atmos soundbar such as the Sonos Beam Gen 2.
Overall, it doesn't have much in the way of upgrades of its Award-winning predecessor, and it even looks identical, but it still remains the best small OLED TV on the market.

Also consider
LG OLED48C5: The 48-inch C5 is a great choice for those looking for a middle ground between the Award-winning 42-inch and 55-inch models on this list. Much like its smaller sibling, we approve of its rich, cinematic picture, which still feels engaging and grand in scale, despite the smaller screen size.
LG OLED65C4: Stock is definitely dwindling, but if you can get your hands on one of the few remaining C4 OLEDs, then you'll be rewarded with an excellent TV that performs similarly to the C5 at a lower price. It packs in many of the same gaming features, and it's an excellent performer for film content as well.
How to choose the best LG TV for you
All of the TVs recommended above are LG's own. All are 4K OLEDs that support HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG (but not HDR10+), and all have HDMI 2.1 sockets that support eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). So how do you choose the one best-suited to your needs?
Bigger is better but size isn't everything. If you're going for a 65-inch or 75-inch model, make sure you have room to sit far enough back to enjoy the full effect.
Love gaming? You'll want to make sure you buy a TV with next-gen gaming features such as VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode).
LG TVs use LG's own colourful 'webOS' operating system. On the surface it looks good and is pretty simple to get to grips with, but if you've been reared on Android TV or Samsung's Tizen system, the menus can take a bit of getting used to.
FAQ
What is the best LG TV for a bedroom?
Unless you’ve got a boudoir the size of a small supermarket, chances are you’re looking for something smaller, so the best choice here would be the OLED42C3. Smaller OLEDs don’t tend to go as bright as their larger siblings, and that’s certainly true of the 42-inch C3, but considering much of your bedroom viewing is likely to be after dark, that shouldn’t be an issue.
What is the best LG TV for gaming?
One of the things that makes LG TVs so easy to recommend is how accommodating they are to gamers. Every TV on our list is extremely well-specced for gaming, with HDMI 2.1 sockets and support for all of the latest gaming features, so no matter which console (or gaming PC) you own you can just choose based on budget and space.
What is the best soundbar for an LG TV?
Pretty much all of our LG TV reviews mention the need to add a soundbar, and while LG produces some soundbars that integrate really neatly with the design of its TVs, in our experience they aren’t the best-sounding ones available. There’s no real need to stick to the same brand and instead just buy the best soundbar you can on your budget.
What are the best picture settings for an LG TV?
The LG models on this page all arrive with some very good picture settings, but some minor tweaks are worth making. Check out these essential (but simple) tips to get the best out of your LG OLED TV.
How we test TVs
The arrival of a new LG TV at What Hi-Fi? HQ is usually a pretty big deal, but each one must go through our usual thorough testing process before we can declare whether it’s worth buying or not.
As soon as a new LG TV enters the building it’s whisked straight to our state-of-the-art testing facilities, where a member of our team will spend many hours assessing every aspect of its performance, from general usability to picture and sound quality. That’s not the end of the judgement process, though, with all verdicts agreed upon by the team as a whole, which helps to eliminate any personal preferences.
Every product we review at What Hi-Fi? is judged on its own merits, but they’re also compared to others in the same category, which allows us to find the very best and make recommendations that you can rely on.
The What Hi-Fi? team has over a century’s experience when it comes to testing and writing about hi-fi and home entertainment technology, so our verdicts are backed by extensive knowledge. They’re also free from the influence of PR representatives or sales staff, so when you pick a product from one of our Best Buy lists you know you’re getting one that comes with the What Hi-Fi? seal of approval.
