The Ultrasone Edition 8 headphones certainly pack in the quality where materials are concerned. The outer ear cups are covered in Ruthenium, a precious metal known for its metallic sheen and durability.
The interior ear cups and the headband are covered in soft dark grey Ethiopian sheepskin leather, which Ultrasone claims is 'the finest leather available and provides the finest isolation of any leather'.
In addition to a new titanium plated tri-bass-tube driver, this is the first Edition series headphone that uses Ultrasone's S-Logic Plus technology.
The Edition 8 also contains MU-Metal shielding that aims to reduce magnetic field emissions. Finally, these headphones come with an exclusively manufactured bag made from smooth, fine grain Madras goatskin.
So, it's fair to say Ultrasone has put a little effort in - but then for £1199 for these Edition 8 headphones, you'd expect that.
