Traditional in-ears weighing your workouts down? Shokz's lightest-ever hooked buds might have the answer

Sport-focused audio brand Shokz has launched its latest pair of wireless earbuds, the OpenFit Air 2.

Billed as a lightweight set of buds that blend a secure, easygoing design with "powerful open-ear audio", the OpenFit Air 2 are built for users who want an unobtrusive fit that won't get in the way no matter the length of your workout sessions.

Each bud is equipped with a dual 'Bassphere' driver system, designed to produce "rich bass" and a "full, expansive soundstage". For toggling your sound to your liking, four preset equaliser modes – Standard, Vocal, Bass and Private – are available.

Like the bulk of Shokz's established earbuds, the OpenFit Pro employ an open off-ear design, with an over-ear hook for aiding greater stability and security during runs and workouts.

At 7.2 grams per earbud, the OpenFit Air 2 are also billed as the lightest ear-hook buds that Shokz has ever made, and they should be protected against splashes of water and dust ingress thanks to their IP55 certification.

You needn't be caught out if you're on a long run and your mum calls you in for your dinner, because the OpenFit Air 2 incorporate a dual microphone system combined with an AI noise reduction algorithm to keep voices clear while reducing background noise.

The sporty new buds grant hours of playtime on a single charge, rising to 50 hours in total with the charging case in play. If you're in a hurry, you can squeeze three hours of listening time with a speedy 10-minute quick charge.

Further features include Bluetooth Multipoint for connecting to multiple source devices simultaneously, as well as Fast Pair and Swift Pair for a one-tap connection to Android and Windows devices respectively.

The Shokz OpenFit Air will be available from September 16th in Black, White or Ice Blue finishes, priced at £129 / $130.
