For some, Black Friday will only mean one thing: a long awaited discount on AirPods.

Apple's earbuds rarely get a discount, but Black Friday is a notable exception. And this year, they've come out swinging.

That's nearly half price, saving you a whopping $60. It's a fair bit cheaper than the £99 price we're getting in the UK!

We haven't tested this particular model, but we were suitably impressed by the AirPods 4 with ANC for their clean, detailed sound, comfortable design and extensive feature set. So we're confident in recommending the AirPods 4, which lose ANC but make up for it with a discount. If you're after AirPods at the lowest possible price, look no further.

While we haven't reviewed the basic AirPods 4, we were pleasantly surprised by the AirPods 4 with ANC, partly because of the amount of features packed in.

The standard AirPods 4 lose, of course, the ANC and a few features such as wireless charging, but still come with plenty to offer.

For starters, the AirPods 4 feature Apple's latest H2 headphone chip, allowing support for spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

Apple has improved voice quality for call-taking over the AirPods 3, and has also introduced Siri Interactions to allow owners to simply nod or shake their head to respond to Siri.

Apple has also certified the AirPods 4 as dust-, sweat- and water-resistant to IP54 standards (up from the AirPod's 3 IPX4 rating) and a new force sensor on the stem allows owners to play or pause media and mute or end calls with a quick press.

Perhaps most importantly the AirPods 4 have the same core acoustic architecture and Adaptive EQ as the AirPods 4 with ANC, so you can expect a similar sound quality (minus the ANC modes) for a cheaper price.

If you're not too bothered about ANC, then this will likely be the best price you'll find on AirPods this Black Friday. The AirPods 4 offer a raft of improvements over the AirPods 3, so Apple fans will want to consider them for $69 at Amazon before they inevitably sell out.
