Research by whathifi.com shows that the Award-winning Pioneer PDP-LX5090 plasma, which was £2400 back in the autumn, is now typically selling for £1800 if you buy the screen only, and £2000 with the speakers and stand.
The five-star, two-box Pioneer KRP-500A which we recently tested at £2800 is now typically £2299 (screen only) and £2499 with accessories.
And Pioneer's first LCD models also drop in price: the £1500 KRL-37V can now be found for around £1200, while the KRL-32V is around £1000.
Given the plunging exchange rate and hence the possibility of price rises in the New Year, now would seem a good time to buy.
