Merlin Bach Mk IV

A great cable that needs a touch of pep to really shine

- Wide, rich and subtle sound
Against
- Lacks a touch of flair
Upgraded, with new Neutrik plugs, this stalwart is now on its fourth time round.
Offering up a wide sound packed with insight and subtlety, the Bach has a rich, almost lugubrious feel that makes music seem effortless.
Cohesion is good, while the treble and midrange work nicely hand in hand, and production subtleties are picked out and not glossed over.
When it comes to dynamics, the Bach needs a touch of flair to its presentation to make it truly complete, but those with a lively sounding set-up costing around £500 a unit will find it ideal.
