If the electronics are the beating heart of a hi-fi or home cinema system, the cables are the veins, transporting the all-vital picture and sound between the various components. If you didn’t run the odd cable or two between your kit, you’d be sitting there listening in silence or watching a blank screen.
But how good is your cable knowledge? Can you tell your HDMI from your USB? (there you are, we’ve given you a couple of clues already)
We have put together images of 13 types of cable which we would like you to identify. Some are pretty straightforward, but we have dropped a couple of tougher ones in there to really put you to the test.
There’s no prize for full marks, we’re afraid, but hopefully you’ll be able to sleep more easily at night knowing that your cable-spotting skills are up to scratch. Good luck!
