How does Dynaudio Excite X 16 sound compared to the X 12's?

I've only heard the latter which sounded very good to me.
(Or rather, I've heard the X 16's, but they weren't broken in, and thus I didn't really get a usable impression of them.)

Thanks.

Best,
Henrik

To answer my own question, in case someone else might be wondering out there, or that someone will stumble upon this thread later on:

The x 12's sound great on their own.
But once you have the x 16's to A/B with, it soon becomes apparent that the x 12's in fact sound "smallish" in comparison.
The x 16's sound bigger, not just bass-wise, but as a whole.
On their own the x 12's are a great set of speakers, though.

Best,
Henrik

Hi Henrik

I'll echo your thoughts.

Btw, what source component/s and amplifier do you use?

All the best

Hi Rick,

Glad you have found the same Smile
I listened on a Creek setup - the Evolution 2 amp with matching CD-player (not sure what the latter is named).

Best,
Henrik

Hi hbuus,

I own the Excite X-12's hooked to my Leema Pulse, great little speakers I must say, BUT I do regret not getting the Excite X-16's for that extra scale I feel I am missing and would be my choice NOW I think, I was in the situation where I had to buy blind, and through some great recommendations on this site and what my budget was at the time I bought the X-12's. I am now seriously looking at upgrading to the Focus 160's but am not too sure the Leema will run them, rick do you have any idea? No one has come forward and confidently said it will. I mean I don't expect it to run them to their full potential but surely it will be a big improvement on what I have?
