These are sumptuously turned-out headphones, with an ultra-comfortable, closed-back design: you can listen long (and loud) without annoying your ears or others.

They sound smooth and detailed, if not – understandably – as airy as open-backed rivals.

But there's a lack of grit or grind where needed – if you love raucous rock, rap or R&B, these are just a bit too refined
