If you’re a Galaxy phone owner, the Buds 2 present themselves for connection, offer a handy widget and a seamless, enjoyable experience with added customisation options – and for many, this coupled with a small and pocketable design will be enough. They don't sound as competitive as the best pairs at this RRP, but this Amazon deal makes them considerably more appealing.
If you don't have the four-figure budget of most 4K smart TVs, this 50-inch Philips could be the next addition to your living room. Running on Android TV, it has effective 'Ambilight' backlighting that floods the room with colours matching what's happening on the TV for that extra immersive experience. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support is on board. Now with 25% off the listed price.
The Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen) is one of Amazon’s most advanced smart displays, with a 10.1-inch screen that can rotate 360º and pivots as you move. Its automatic pan and zoom is particularly neat if you like to make video calls (though it’s only compatible with other Echo Shows and Skype). A very good smart device indeed, now AU$70 on Amazon.
If you want one of the latest iPhones but can't afford the newest iPhone 13, it's as good a time as any to buy an iPhone 12. The 64GB storage variant is now discounted to AU$997 at Amazon. This is a 5G model with an impressive 6.1-inch OLED display, and the same slick and speedy interface we've come to expect from iOS. Buy with confidence.

How does one stand out from the overcrowded wireless earbuds space? Yamaha believes it's with 'Listening Care' technology, which is built into its TW-E3B and promises to allow the wearer to hear full-range sound even at low volume settings, meaning they won't feel the need to increase volume and put their hearing at risk. Elsewhere, aptX Bluetooth support, 24-hour battery life and IPX5 water resistance help their case as buds to buy too.
The Echo Auto is a neat little (and it really is little) device for adding Alexa voice control to your car. It comes with a simple air vent mount for easy and widely compatible installation, though you will need to have a car that supports Bluetooth in order for the Echo Auto to connect to your car’s speakers. Now 51% off in Amazon's Mid-Year Sale.
Compact on-ear headphones are rare breeds these days, so if you prefer that design to the more cumbersome over-ear one, these Yamahas have points in the bag already. Add to that active noise cancellation, a 38-hour battery life (with ANC on), Yamaha's ear-protecting Listening Care technology, and of course this generous discount, and you have a pair well worth considering here.
A pretty good smart home bundle if you're looking to start an Alexa set-up in your house. It gives you two ways to access Alexa smarts; the Fire TV Stick 4K Max allows you to stream your favourite shows and movies in 4K (and comes with an Alexa remote), while the Echo Dot lets you stream music and control your smart home setup too. Bought separately, you'd be spending AU$237 for both, but this Mid-Year Sale bundle saves you AU$59.
Stocks of some of the newer iPads have been few and far between, so if anyone has been waiting patiently to get an iPad, there's now a 64GB Air from 2020 available right now on Amazon – and with a 19% discount. Note that the offer is only on the Space Grey model with both Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity.
If you want the best 4K viewing experience, 4K Blu-rays are a decent investment. And when it comes to a machine to play them, this affordable Sony player is an excellent choice for those on a budget – not only when it comes to playing 4K discs but also upscaling your lower-res Blu-rays and DVDs. A fuss-free option, and a no-brainer at this discounted price.
If your home movie nights need shaking up a little, this KEF subwoofer promises to bring some extra 'oomph' to your stereo or surround sound speaker set-up. This compact, easy-to-install sub might be small (293 x 293 x 310 mm) but it still delivers a not-insignificant 300 watts through an 8-inch woofer and has EQ settings for user tweakery.
Anker has a knack for producing decent-sounding buds at crazy-low prices, and while we haven't reviewed the Life P2 and so cannot vouch for their sound quality, their spec sheet is solid enough to make them worth a punt at this price. Highlights include a 40-hour battery life, IPX7-rated water resistance and aptX Bluetooth support.
A sub-$600 Dolby Atmos-supporting 3.1-channel soundbar with impressive Virtual Sound technologies, a subwoofer, intuitive control system and decent sound quality is not to be sniffed at. While those looking for ‘true’ Dolby Atmos might want to consider spending more for Sony's HT-ST5000 or the Sonos Arc, for those on a tighter budget, the HT-ZF9 gets the job done.
In some ways, the Jabra Elite 3 are nigh-on ideal. Light, comfortable, decently specified and with a very acceptable battery life, they’ve got a lot going for them ergonomically, and the way they sound is most agreeable too. They don't deliver the most expressive dynamics or tightest bass response, but at this discounted price these shortcomings are easy to forgive. All four colours options are on sale here.
After a sportier pair? The Jabra Elite 4 Active are a budget pair of true wireless earbuds for gym-goers and joggers alike. They offer decently clear sound, active noise cancellation and an IPX4 water-resistance rating, so they can withstand some sweat while you’re working out.
If you're after a single bar to discreetly slip into your living room to boost your TV sound, this discounted Bose could be just the ticket. It has built-in Alexa for voice control, both optical and HDMI sockets for TV hook-up, plus integrated wi-fi (for direct access to music services like Spotify and Amazon Music) and Bluetooth. A versatile bar, now with a decent saving.
