NEWS: InFocus aims for class leadership with 'Play Big' IN83 DLP projector

InFocus is to launch the latest in its 'Play Big' range of projectors, the Full HD 1080p IN83. It will be available in the UK from March, at £3500.

The IN83 is armed with the latest DLP DarkChip4 technology from Texas Instruments, Pixelworks' DNX 10-bit video processing and two HDMI 1.3 inputs (one via M1-DA) with DeepColor support.

It offers a native 5000:1 contrast ratio, which is boosted to an effective 15,000:1 by the iris, and a maximum brightness of 1600 ANSI Lumens, meaning it's bright enough to deliver D65K colour accuracy on screens up to 4.3m wide.

There's automatic colour gamut and black level calibration, with further set-up possible using the InFocus Colour Gamut Calibrator and ISF Day and Night presets to lock in calibration settings.

A digital vertical lens shift is provided for keystone adjustment, and the projector can also be used with an optional anamorphic lens attachment, allowing 2.35:1 widescreen movies to be viewed at full 1920x1080-pixel resolution.

The projector will come complete with a 2m HDMI cable and an M1/HDMI adapter.

InFocus projectors are distributed in the UK by CSE Solutions.
