NEWS: Three-panel D-ILA Dreambee projector aims to create a buzz

Just launched in the UK is the DreamBee projector from Paris-based DreamVision: using three 1.8cm D-ILA panels it promises Full HD resolution and cinema quality for £7000, making it a serious rival to high-quality DLP designs.

With 1920x1080-pixel resolution, a claimed 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 1000 lumen output, the DreamBee uses one D-ILA panel for each colour - red, green and blue - and backs up its video handling with Gennum's Visual eXcellence Processing.

A 2x optical zoom gives a 1.4-2.8:1 throw ratio, meaning you don't need a huge room to use it, there's an 80% vertical and 34% horizontal shift to increase intallation flexibility and a relatively modest 11kg weight makes it easy to mount.

Twin HDMI inputs are backed up with composite, component and S-video. Oh, and it comes in a choice of colours: midnight black, coconut white, blue sky, hibiscus red and sunflower yellow.

The DreamVision range is distributed in the UK by Absolute Sounds.
