NEWS: SIM2 sees red with new three-chip DLP projector

We couldn't resist bringing you this mean, moody shot of SIM2's latest projector, the £18,000, Grand Cinema C3X 1080, said to be 'the world’s smallest, lightest and most competitively priced full High Definition, 3-chip DLP projector'.

The new model is again styled by Giorgio Revoldini, and when it goes on sale in November will come in high-gloss gunmetal finish as standard, with that gloss red, black or gold available to order.

40cm square, and weighing 10kg, the C3X1080 is based on the latest 0.95in 1080P chipsets from Texas Instruments, and these combine with SIM2's own Alphapath light engine to deliver full-HD 1920x1080-pixel 24fps progressive resolution.

The projector also has 10-bit video processing giving deinterlacing and scaling capability, while newly developed colour-management software allows more precise calibration.

Twin HDMI inputs are provided, along with connectors for analogue video, and the projector also has RS232 and USB connectors for control and firmware/software upgrades.
