Beyerdynamic DTX60

Lightweight and comfy, but altogether too shouty at volume and lack bass presence

First impressions are good here: the DTX60s are light, simple to insert and comfortable once they're in your ears.
They're one of a couple of designs in this round-up that are a little noisy through the cord, though - any tap of the cable thumps its way to your ears.
Fast and attacking, the Beyers deliver reasonable levels of detail and good separation, but are strangely insubstantial in the low frequencies.
They can be ill-advisedly forward through the midrange, which doesn't help the bottom end, and at volume can become quite strident. There are more effective headphone upgrades elsewhere on these pages
