Provisionally sold the Isolda speaker cable, selling the interconnects too (ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230242501899 )

Hi there, that's a gorgeous looking set-up, sadly never had the chance to hear those components though. One question that springs to mind - why does the speaker cable run to the front of the speakers? Is there a benefit to the sound?

Decided against selling them when they were dramatically improved by certain changes. Plus the financial situation has improved!

Cheers. It sounds far better than it looks! Yes, for some inexplicable reason the music was better with the cables that way. There was quite a flame war over this on another forum, but hey, none of those that were berating it actually came to listen!

Nice one, good for you!
In all honesty, for the price you paid for the speaker wire why not show it off?
After all, prob spent more money on that cable than many of us on here have on our systems, which take pride of place in our homes!

I'd rather not say in case the wife sees this!

I'm sure if you do a search on the internet you could find out Wink

Some of the stuff can be had used for quite a lot less than price new now though. (The speakers, amp and CDP were all ex dem)

Re: Get yer 'Lovely Choons' here!

The cd player was £8K when new, accuphase was around £4K or just under and The gorgeous Diva is still selling at not much under £8K.

So this is a £20K system (not included the silly price cables) and I bet together they sound sublime.

Mine.

I put the speakers on eBay for about 2 days before I decided I couldn't let go...

The interconnects are on at the moment though...

Re: Get yer 'Lovely Choons' here!

Well, I have sold the Townsend speaker cable and ordered my MIT speaker cable, that should take about another three weeks to come. Just need to sell my interconnects (on eBay) then I can order the MIT interconnects...
