RE: Best Speakers

The Patent Office, presumably, was supplied with details of exactly how these loudspeakers work, which might be accessible somehow ?

Does anyone know the number of the Patent, or who registered it, or who owned it, or when it was registered  ?

I seem to remember someone said, somewhere, that it dated back to the 1920s, but who was the owner 10 years ago when it expired ?

Googled info on Alacrity Audio suggests that the company was formed only a few months ago in September 2012.

RE: Best Speakers

Have we seen the last of Jon here? It may be the birth of a well made british product having worthwhile qualities? I think the PR needs to adressed and claims of new physics and subsonic frequencies do little to impress a serious audience at this level. If these units prove to be a worthy option in the market then this thread does nothing to improve its chances save to say it has captured the interest of a handful of us for one reason or another.
Maybe Jon will return in another guise having sent his speakers to some respected reviewers. It is always going to be difficult to get into this market but too many rules of marketing broken here. Good luck to any innovative designers in the UK & I will look out for the progress of the company.
Cheers

So hang on, just to get this clear: this is a troll thread started by a user who has never returned to it, jumped on by the AVI crowd, hijacked by another speaker manufacturer for self-publicity, and now being reclaimed by the 'hey hey the gang's all here' AVI crowd again, weighing in mobhanded almost as though guided by a higher power.

Forums, doncha just love 'em?

Almost. Started by an AVI cult member under a new name for the real cult member to post advertising photos. The rest is right, though hijacked almost seems an understatement. It's now being reclaimed by the AVI cult as it's Thursday night. No doubt the cult meeting this morning was devoted to it. Maybe it's pure coincidence that they reclaimed it on a Thursday, or maybe not? Guided by a higher power? The Rev Ashley Myung Moon? Who knows? Whatever, I don't trust either of them.

Oh JJ, does your ranting know no end?

Do you actually ever post anything that doesn't imagine a conspiracy?

You seem to have a Thursday thing, is this the only day that you don't have to wear the white sailcloth smoking jacket with the brown leather and buckle accents?

What impresses me is how this (and other) threads are left to meet their own demise without mod action, no sarcasm. The voice of reason (usually) pervails. Nice.

Not so long ago this would have been impossible and there are other forums where folks are all to quick to press lock or erase buttons.

I agree, but then everyone screams ' censorship' and we get "Why was the xyz thread locked?" threads and then "Why was the... "Why was the xyz thread locked?" thread locked?" threads etc. ad infinitum.

The 'censorship' is then taken personally by all sides and eveyone accuses the mods of being '[insert product] bashers'.

Not sure where the 'but' comes in but what I tried to say is I personally prefer minimum censorship unless there's some obvious reason to lock down.

We'll probably get erased in a minute for discussing this though ...

No, discussion of moderation is no longer against the house rules.

BTW Jon. Good luck with your speakers, I hope that they're a success. beauty, eh The acoustic induction cabinet loading technology that you use sounds very interesing indeed.

@ WHF - Please try and get hold of a pair of Alacrity Audio speakers for testing. I'd love to know what you guys think of them.
