USB FLAC through Yamaha 2065
I have experimented with a few flac files from a usb memeory stick plugged straight into my 2065 and I recon the sq beats that thru cd/sony bdp. Is this to be expected or is it the old plecebo voodoo gremlins pokin' me old eardrums?

Agreed, not sure what anybody can be expected to say, you have a lossless rip, the shortest possible signal path, you're (presumably) using the same pre-amp and amp stages if you were listening to the BDP through the Yamaha, it would be a surprise if it didn't sound at least as good if not better.
Thank you kind Sirs. Fair comment. I guess, undeestanding that bdp were poorer for cd play I figured the cd reading was less accurate than pc rip added to a shorter path. I will let my old ears guide me but I questioned the reason why.

I should add that the flac file was a burn from the same cd via laptop. I recon too that the usb direct sounda better than the same flac played thru my seagate theatre.
