Want better sound from your TV? We round-up the best soundbars you can buy, from brilliant budget models to premium surround sound options.

What is a soundbar? A soundbar is the simplest way to improve your TV sound without adding a full 5.1 surround sound cinema system.

If you don't have the space or inclination for a home cinema system, then the good news is a soundbar provides an excellent alternative, is easy to set-up and can work with pretty much any TV on the market. With wireless subwoofers, wireless Bluetooth streaming and HDMI connections all on board, there's something for everyone.

We've rounded-up the best TV soundbars for 2016 from our most recent reviews, from budget soundbars to more premium options, and we'll be keeping this page updated as and when we review new products.

The British company's debut soundbar arrived in 2014 and even for £400 it didn't disappoint. Today, it's even more remarkable value thanks to a recent price drop, giving you an extra reason to take the plunge.

Its combination of musical, dynamic and engaging performance and unfussy, practical design made it our favourite soundbar of 2015 and a worthy holder of its Product of the Year status for a second year running.

The Playbar isn’t unique in its ability to deliver heaps more detail, weight and balance than your TV speakers. But if you also want to stream music from a NAS, laptop or smartphone or access internet radio, no other soundbar will do.

Quite frankly, this is Sonos in a soundbar. "Yes please", you say? We don't blame you.

Dali has come up with some great things over the years, most of which have been stereo and surround speakers. But it can now add soundbars to the list, for its debut model is a resounding success.

As gorgeous and complete a package as you'd expect for its premium asking price, the Kubik One is one of the best one-box sound solutions we’ve heard, impressing with everything from its hugely engaging, involving sound to its smart, attractive exterior.
