SHOW NEWS: Audica adds glossy CX speakers

This is the high-gloss subwoofer in British company Audica's new CX speaker range, available in conventional pairs or as complete surround solutions.

Launched at the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Show, the new speakers are said to cater for the trend towards larger flatscreen displays, as well as being able to fill larger rooms with sound.

The speakers have been designed for better bass, sweeter treble and improved dynamics, and the cabinet and drivers have been optimised using the latest model simulation techniques, this greatly accelerating the development process.

The cabinets are made from extruded aluminium, and are the usual Audica 'foil' shape in plan view, and the speakers use new 5cm mid/bass units and 20mm tweeters, all using neodymium magnets for better efficiency and dynamics.

The CX series comprises an LCR speaker designed with large screens in mind, a satellite speaker for smaller rooms or rear speaker use, acentre speaker, a tower speaker with a glass, adjustable spiked base

and a 200W active subwoofer.
