NEWS: Denon upgrades DJ controller with USB MIDI interface

Budding DJs take note: Denon has upgraded its DN-HD2500 DJ media player and controller. It now has a USB MIDI interface to control PC software, and ASIO driver support.

The £649 DN-HD2500 is a hard-drive based unit that can import, store, control, modify and play digital music from almost any source.

The new version is marked with a 'V' on the box, or alternatively owners of the current model can download a free firmware upgrade from the Denon DJ website.

Other technical highlights of the DJ media player include:

  • Internal 40GB hard drive
  • External USB device support with high-speed USB 2.0 interface
  • File navigation system
  • Four built-in effects
  • Three platter effects
  • Pitch range and deep pitch resolution
