Andy has more than 25 years experience as a technology journalist, and soon after joining Haymarket launched its first video and TV magazine, VTV, when VHS was still the dominant video format. VTV was later merged into What Hi-Fi? and Andy became Deputy Editor of the magazine in 1997 and Editor in 1998.

In 2004 he was the launch Editor of Home Cinema magazine and in 2005 relaunched Haymarket's series of technology buying guides under the Ultimate Guide banner.

With the move to online publishing, Andy took over as Editor of whathifi.com in 2007 and helped rebuild the website from scratch, adding reviews, news, videos and more recently user reviews and our own price comparison engine. Andy was appointed Editor-in-Chief of What Hi-Fi? in 2012 and has since overseen its development into a true multimedia brand, becoming Global Brand Director in 2017. He is probably alone on the team in believing the 1980s was a great decade for music.
