JVC HA-NCX77 Noise-cancelling review

Earbud phones with effective noise cancellation and solid sound. Decent separation and space to music, with well-controlled bass. Tested at £60.00

What Hi-Fi? Verdict

An effective, though slightly bulky, solution to in-flight droning. The fit won’t suit everyone, mind

These earbuds burrow into your head, which won't suit the squeamish.

The battery/noise-cancelling box is on the large side considering it takes a single AAA cell, while the price seems optimistic. But there's also a lot to be said for these JVCs.

The noise-cancelling is effective (if reminiscent of sudden cabin depressurisation).

The sound is solid, too, with some separation and breathing space to music, even as it's injected directly into your head.

Bass sounds are well controlled, though slightly monotonal, and the JVCs fight against listener fatigue well.
