FiiO’s new CD player wants to do it all – with a DAC, pre-amplifier and more

Prolific Chinese manufacturer, FiiO, has just announced a new CD player, the DP11, which the company has called a “full-interface” CD digital transport.

Measuring just 6.7 x 23 x 21.3cm (hwd), and weighing 1.8kg, the DP11 is well and truly desktop-friendly. For an extra bit of visual charm, the unit also features a 9.4cm amber LCD display.

According to FiiO, the front-loading CD tray uses servo firmware that has been optimised for more accurate disc reading. To keep whirring sounds to a minimum, the CD player also employs a “silent mechanism” bracket, for "smooth and gentle" tray operation with "ultra low running-noise".

The DP11 shares elements of its circuit design with FiiO’s S15 streamer. The CD servo, digital processing stages and analogue audio stages all use isolated power supplies to suppress mains noise, with power sourced from an internal mains and crosstalk interference. Notably, however, the DP11 also accepts an external 12V/2A DC supply.

This CD player isn’t short on outputs, either.

Stereo RCA analogue outputs are driven by a Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chip, while coaxial, TOSLINK, and AES/EBU outputs let you bypass the internal DAC should you wish, for use with a separate DAC. The unit also supports MQA bitstream output.

FiiO claims the DP11 can also double as a pre-amplifier, and can be connected directly to active loudspeakers or a power amp. For added convenience, the CD player can be controlled with an included infrared remote.

To really make the most of the DP11’s DAC and digital outputs, a USB input allows you to connect smartphones, tablets or a PC/Mac. FiiO hasn’t yet announced which sample rates the DAC accepts, however.

For those looking to digitise their CD collection, plugging a USB flash drive into the DP11 will let users rip discs to WAV, but FiiO hasn’t yet confirmed the unit’s ripping speed.

We don't know UK pricing for the DP11 just yet, but for customers in the US, the CD player will cost $170, and be available in Silver and Black finishes.

The DP11 go on sale in late September or early October 2026.
