What Hi-Fi? Verdict

These headphones were once among our favourites, but now newer rivals give more detail and control and are more comfortable

Pros

  • + Go loud and offer plenty of bass weight

Cons

  • - Not as comfortable as rivals. Lack detail, clarity and control

We last tested the Beyerdynamic SX10s in 2006 and they're now sounding their age.

Compared with the best at this price they lack detail, clarity and control, and they're not as comfortable or sturdy in position as newer rivals.

Sure they go loud and offer plenty of bass weight, but we now expect more.
