Here's a sneak preview of the first Blu-ray player from Arcam. It was spotted on the Arcam display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week, and will make its UK debut at the Bristol Sound and Vision Show from February 20th-22nd.

We understand there will be a standalone Blu-ray player, as well as a BD transport to go with the matching Arcam FMJ AVR600 multichannel receiver.

Details remain under wraps, but we're due to visit Arcam's HQ next week so hope to get more details then, plus a sneak look at Arcam's forthcoming flagship HDAV888/P777 AV pre/power combo.

We'll post more information just as soon as we get it.

But when will we see it - June 2009 is long past

I'm sure it will be a superb piece of kit, but as someone who paid a sizeable deposit for an AVR 600 in November - and is still waiting for delivery with no date and no reasonable explanation given, don't hold your breath if you're waiting for one of these!!

Why would you sell a PS3 for this? This doesn't play games, stream your Music, stream your video let you browse your photos or go on the internet! Probably cost as much as 10 PS3's anyway!

WOW! PS3 is being sold!!! I have a Solo Movie and I am sure this will look lovely next to it!!!

Igot wind of this back in the summer, ut i seriously think as soon as the bristol bash isover, the likes of naim, meridian etc will follow suit. let's face it, who is going to spend upwards of a grand on a DVD player now?
