Living Control puts your iPhone in charge of multiroom sound

LC Studio

Living Control will be launching the Studio6 MediaServer at the CEDIA UK Expo 2008 – the show is June 24-26 at Excel London – alongside the new iPhone/iPod Touch interface.

The Studio6 MediaServer is the company's latest server platform, complete with support for Full HD video. The Studio6 supports a wide range of audio and video formats, and is capable of providing two independent video streams via HDMI of 1080p video – or any video content – as well as four independent audio-only outputs for music.

The MediaServer provides a gigabit of networking storgae as well as touch sensitive front panel buttons and the usual on-wall control panels. It's a complete home solution, complete with Full HD support... but it will cost you £8000. Check out www.livingcontrol.com for more information.

Also new to the Living Control portfolio is iPhone/iPod touch control. The new software will deliver the Studio6 MediaServer's interface to the screen of your iPhone, giving you complete mobile control.

As a standalone application rather than a Safari-embedded piece of software, Living Control promises control will be faster, more reliable and more intuitive. The application will be available as a download from Living Control's website from July.
