Apple is finally adding functionality that other phones have had for years, namely the ability to send messages complete with images.
In addition, there will be a spruced-up App Store, cut, copy and paste functionality and a landscape kepypad. And there's support for A2DP stereo Bluetooth connectivity.
You'll also be able to forward and delete multiple messages and make voice memos, while the new Spotlight homepage (shown as an app on your homescreen) enables users to search iPod, Mail, Calendar and Contacts on your iPhone in a fuss-free manner.
iPhone OS 3.0 will be free to all iPhone 3G owners, but again Apple has decided to charge iPod Touch users – $9.95 in the US, so likely to be around £10 over here.
