Runco to reveal its Reflection RS-900 DLP projector at CEDIA Expo

Runco RS900

Visitor's to the CEDIA Expo in London tomorrow will be the first to get a glimpse of Runco's brand-new Reflection RS-900 DLP home cinema projector. It costs £8995.

It's designed to work with both standard-definition sources such as DVD, and high-definition ones including Blu-ray and Sky HD. Resolution is 1920 x 1080, and brightness 1200 ANSI Lumens.

According to Runco, it features technology "usually only found on high-end projectors", including CineWide and AutoScope modes so classic CinemaScope movies shot in 2.35: 1 aspect ratio can be viewed without any black bars showing at the top and bottom of the screen.

The RS-900 has been engineered for top-quality 1080p, Full HD picture performance, and uses Runco's proprietary SupeOnyx technology to produce bright, pristine, high-definition images.

Other technical highlights include Vivix digital video processing, and Selectable Lamp Intensity Control (SLIC) which provides users with two lamp intensity levels to choose from, depending on the screen size they use, ambient light conditions, brightness and colour balance.

SLIC has also been designed to extend the life of the lamp, and a new cooling system increases effieciency and reduces noise levels, according to Runco.

Two HDMI inputs, an RS-232 interface for home automation control and HDCP are included as standard.
