NEWS: Solar speakers for iPod sound anywhere

New from online retailer minispeakers.co.uk is a solar-powered speaker system for the iPod, allowing you to listen to and charge your pocket player while on the move.

The system costs £95 plus p&p direct from the company, and allows you to dock the player either conventionally or, using a bracket supplied, mount the iPod Touch or iPhone horizontally for movie viewing.

The speaker system delivers 2x18W, is just 12.4cm wide, and less than 5cm tall and deep, and weighs 420g. It can also be powered by the mains or batteries, and the charger is designed to be hung from a rucksack or window, enabling the user to keep the player and dock charged up at all times.

The package combines the speaker dock, flip-up charger and universal mains adapter, usable anywhere in the world.
