Still using the Crimson electric power amp. Replaced the pre amp with a passive amp and now with an Audiolab 8200 CDQ. Still sounds great. Had a friends Tag macClaren amp to try and the crimson sounded a lot better.
Always liked the retro Braun set up.
PCS4 Turntable, CSV300 amp and CE500 tuner, nice!
Sorry i know its not all ampage but i'd like to share anyhoo...
I built my first amp courtesy of "Heathkit" and it looked quite cool due to the exposed valves.Soon moved on to a great sounding amp, also a tube job, resplendered in black and gold, called Avantic.Still remember the faint hum and the orange glow of the beast, lovely warm sound - and a lovely warm heating appliance too.

From memory this is pretty close to the one I heard in a shop.

PP, i owned this amplifier or certainly one very similar. It was definately purchased from Richer Sounds circa 1993 amd was a replacement for a 30wpc DIY amp that was passed on to me by my father. It powered a pair of Gale 4 speakers.
I sold it to a friend for £30 when i upgraded to a Rotel pre and power combo. I believe it is still hooked up to a pair of SL1210's in a house near Hull!
