Onkyo 505 - tight cabinet - heat issues.
Hi guys, Im new here....
Picked up the magazine this month, to do a little reading about which receiver and sub/sat package to go for to match my Samsung LE40M86 lLCD TV. Decieded on the new Onkyo SR505 and the Kef KHT1005 speakers.
My question is; The space in my 'cabinet' is 150mm tall, and the SR505 is 150mm tall. This would suggest it would just fit in, with no space left on top of the amp. I plan on using the amp just to watch movies, and when I play my xbox 360 (never longer than an hour or so at a time). Would this kind of use cause me heat problems? Could this damage the amp? Does anyone know if there is sufficient ventilation on the sides of this amp?
Im guessing there is no fan inside, and the heat generating elements are just passively cooled. I only ask if there would be a problem, as I have no idea how hot these things get.
