I am looking at the Audioquest Dragonfky dac to improve my headphone listening during the day.

It will clearly be better than my laptop, but how does it compare to my iPhone 4?

Is it a valid upgrade or just marginal?

I rate the iphone 4's audio playback quite highly, but it seems like you're expecting too much from it. I don't have the dragonfly, but I'd imagine there to be a bigger gap between it and the iphone than there is between the iphone and the laptop. You need Dalethorn's opinion fir more, so I recommend posting this question in the headphone section.
