Hi,

Lim looking for a 5 m hdmi cable to connect my pc to the tv.

I have seen various brands, but which make and will a cable 5 m long degrade the picture ?.

I have seen a 5 m hdmi from polaroid for £20 ,is it worth buying?

A 5m cable will not degrade picture. Don't worry.

Even cheaper alternative:

Check these prices from £8.99 to £29.99 for a 5 metre HDMI. I recently bought my father the 15.3 Gigabit version @ £12.99 & it works great plus free delivery. Clicky

Good to see a positive review about this company. I had stayed away from it due to a number of complaints on other forums & here.

Generally, it transports data between two computers. In the case of HDMI with Ethernet cables, it will transport data from the internet to a "smart" TV (if any manufacturer ever decides to support it of course).

I agree with everything the other folk have said. Among many other leads and connectors, I have three 20-metre HDMI cables going between all my rooms, and I don't notice any loss in the picture compared with using 2-metre cables. As it happens, all my longer HDMI cables are by Lindy, go to http://www.lindy.co.uk/ and then type "5m hdmi cable" in the search box. But I'm sure that the other brands will be fine too. Having on one occasion compared signals through a £60 2m HDMI cable from Lindy with going through a £16 2m HDMI cable, also from Lindy, I really could not tell the difference.
