Sony reports smaller annual losses, expects profits to return by 2011

The improvement was largely due to heavy cost cutting, the company says.
Sony expects sales of 3D televisions and games to help it make a profit of 50bn yen in the year to end-March 2011.
Consumer product sales fell by 20 per cent, partly because a strong yen made Sony's products more expensive overseas.
