Philips boosts portable DVD player range with 14 new models

Philips DCP951

Whether you want a DVD player with iPod audio and video playback, photoframe-style access to your favourite digital pictures or a touch of style, there's a model to suit.

The DCP951 also has an SD/MMC memory card slot for easy transfer of your digital media, has a claimed battery life of 2.5 hours and weighs 1.1kg. Two headphone sockets means two of you can watch and listen at the same time.

The tablet design has an integral stand so the player can be viewed easily on a table or desk.

If you want a small DVD player which can double as a digital photo frame, then the £130 PET723 is the one for you. You can access images stored on memory cards, DVDs and CDs, and view and access thumbnails or play a slideshow of your favourite pictures on the 7in, 16:9 screen.

Alternatively, you may be looking for something with a dash of style. The £170 PET940 clamshell design is available in a leatherette or aluminium finish, has a three-hour battery life and a 9in, 16:9 screen. Portable storage devices can be connected via the integral USB slot.

All three models come with car adapter kits, remote control and can play DiVX and MP3 files, whether on CD, DVD, DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/+RW.
