Wales head coach Wayne Pivac felt his side had what it took to win the Six Nations 2021 and with four wins from five, it seems Pivac was right. Wales triumphed over Ireland in Round 1, Scotland in Round 2, England in Round 3 and Italy in Round 4.

The wheels feel off in Round 5, though. Wales were 30-27 up last Saturday when they were caught off guard and conceded a penalty in the final minute. France seized their chance to score and won 32-30, denying Wales a Grand Slam and the Six Nations Championship.

According to England World Cup-winning scrum-half Matt Dawson, the last-minute defeat will "haunt Wales players for years to come".

Wales remain favourites for this year's title but their fate now rests in the hands of France, who play their delayed Round 3 game against Scotland today at the Stade de Paris.

France need to beat Scotland by 21 points or more with a bonus point (for scoring four tries or more) to lift the 2021 Six Nations trophy. Winning by 21 points without the bonus point will see Wales lift the trophy. If France win by a 20 points with a bonus point, they will tie with Wales but Wales will secure the trophy as they have score 20 tries over the tournament, compared to France's 15.

Scotland has a decent run this year thanks in part to Finn Russell. The superstar fly-half played a key role in his side's historic 11-6 victory over England in Round 1, clocking up vintage kicks and passes on every break. The Scots followed that up with 25-24 win over Wales in Round 2, were thwarted by Ireland in Round 4 and thrashed Italy 52-10 in Round 5.

Now, the Scots have an opportunity to deny France the title this Friday when they play their posted Round 3 match against France. Head coach Gregor Townsend is expected to ring the changes but will they be enough to stop Les Bleus winning the Championship for the first time since 2010?

In other news, Ireland finished their Guinness Six Nations campaign on a high note beating England 32-18 in Dublin at the weekend. That leaves reigning champions England to ponder their dismal 5th place finish. England lock Maro Itoje has defended "truly special" coach Eddie Jones, but the RFU are said to be considering Jones' position.

We'll be following the all the Six Nations 2021 news and covid-19 schedule changes, so keep an eye on this page for all the latest. Here's how to watch every try and tackle as the Six Nation concludes...

Watch the Six Nations 2021 from abroad using a VPN

Even if you have subscribed to the relevant Six Nations rights holders, you won't be able to access them when outside your own country. The service will know your location based on your IP address, and will automatically block your access.

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) helps you get around this obstacle. VPNs are a doddle to use and create a private connection between your device and the internet. All the information passing back and forth is entirely encrypted.

There are many VPN providers out there, with some more reliable and safe than others. As a rule, we’d suggest a paid-for service such as ExpressVPN which offers a 100 per cent risk-free money back guarantee. The Six Nations started in Swansea, with a rugby match between England and Wales on 16th December 1882. Fast forward almost 140 years and the Six Nations is the oldest and most prestigious rugby tournament in history.

The team that wins the Six Nations 2021 will be presented with the current trophy, which is made from 7kg of silver. It stands a whopping 75cm tall – the same height as a standard bar stool.

No crowds will be permitted to attend this year's tournament, which comes hot on the heels of of the covid-disrupted 2020 Six Nations. All matches will be played behind closed doors in six stadiums. The largest is Twickenham (82,000 seats), home to the England team.

The Six Nations has been called off or abandoned only six times in its 138-year history, mostly during World War One and Two. In 1885, the clash was marked as 'incomplete' due to simmering tensions between England and Scotland. And in 1972, the Six Nations was left unresolved because of political unrest in Ireland.

The lack of crowds will hit stadiums in the pocket this year. Twickenham, for example, would typically sell 160,000 pints of Guinness worth an estimated £1million at a Six Nations Clash.
