lcd exposure to sunlight

question 2,

it says in the manual to keep the tv (LCD) out of direct sunlight.  the sun is on the tv late afternoon, obviously through a window?  does anyone know if this will affect the screen?

 Think it's more a case of the light on the screen reducing the apparent contrast when viewing.
